I wonder if Kate will get a new gown or recycle again.

That will depend on whether or not there are anymore curtains to be turned into dresses.

^^ Curtains can be turned into decent dresses! Mammy made a fantastic piece for Scarlett O'Hara! And Scarlett basically designed the thing! sigh
It's only Waity and Erdem who can't turn the curtains and sofas into anything half decent for shyte!

Good that they go, or at least Bill, he skipped some BAFTA event last year, even though he's "president" and it literally took place at KP...

When's the Irish Guard thing? Bill and Waity seem to skip regular things and break century old traditions just so no one expects them to make it every single year!

Pregnant Kate DEFIES the Time's Up dress code as Duchess arrives at BAFTAs in muted green dress while the rest of the red carpet wears black in equality protest

Female BAFTA attendees were encouraged to follow Golden Globes lead, asking guests to wear all-black in support of equality campaign Time's Up
Kate, who attended the ceremony along with Prince William, faced a dilemma as wearing black is against royal protocol
Oscar-winning actress Jennifer will serve as on of the presenters at the high-profile annual awards ceremony
The event is being held at the Royal Albert Hall in London for the second year in a row, after the move from the Royal Opera House
Members of the Time's Up initiative sent around a letter urging guests 'to wear black to the awards ceremony, to follow suit from our sisters who attended the Golden Globes'
A host of stars wore Time's Up badges to further pledge their support
Just a month ago, most of the stars who attended the Golden Globes wore black in a show of solidarity towards victims of sexual harassment
This year's awards are being hosted by Joanna Lumley after Stephen Fry announced he was stepping down after hosting for 12 years
Guillermo Del Toro's The Shape Of Water, starring Octavia Spencer, has earned an impressive 12 nominations while Frances McDormand fronted drama Three Billboards received a total of nine nods
Winston Churchill biopic Darkest Hour scored nine nominations, while Christopher Nolan's World War II epic Dunkirk received eight nominations
Of all the 2018 Bafta Film nominees in non-gender-specific categories, only around 20 per cent are women

Good choice of a dress, dark so it fits but not black, so not political.

It's very similar to that navy blue one she wore after she had G, actually the dress I had in mind for this evening!! (dark, so it fits, but not black, so not political!)
This one http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2013/10/24/article-2475269-18F6389400000578-131_634x996.jpg

^ She has such man hands in that pic! They appear to be the same size as Bill's!! blink The extra weight looks very good on her, but in that pic her face looks like it's about to burst.. I blame the shoddy eye makeup, looks like another bad "glam" makeup job.. She has almost slitty eyes, but then again, it is a Goldsmith trait... sigh

She looks really great with the extra weight, womanly and much much younger. Though no doubt there's a considerable amount of photoshop going on here.

I find this emerald set rather ugly and it would have been nice if she'd left The Ring of Doom at home, but oh well..

Duchess Kate won’t wear black to the BAFTAs because of ‘royal protocol’
http://www.celebitchy.com/566196/duchess_kate_wont_wear_black_to_the_baftas_because_of_royal_protocol_/

One time when she refuses to wear black when it would in fact be of immense benefit; she's never shied away from wearing black before.

^ Also considering she's worn (all) black countless times before. Either way, imo a good decision with the dress she chose. We've had too many leaks on some of the Winds's plitical leanings recently. The black does have a black belt and she carrying a black purse, I think she struck the perfect balance of being on topic whilst not being actively in it.

She's (at least going by these pics) looking her best in a very long time. I just don't understand why she won't stop starving herself and crash dieting when it clearly does her no favours at all. I can't get over how good she looks tonight either! Hope she sees some sense!

This wouldn't even be political, but would in fact be a civil rights issue. She hides behind protocol to get out of having to get a job while a girlfriend, hides behind protocol to avoid solo outings and duties, and basically hides behind protocol every chance she gets to avoid doing anything adult. It is part of the evening dress code to wear all black in solidarity of the victims and as usual, she is blowing it.

Of course she looks happy and smug.  She gets to go this type of red carpet fun event and wear a fancy dress and borrow some famcy jewelry and wear ugly makeup.  This is what she married him for.  I acutally think the dress is fine but she looks awful - makeup, weird face, odd mid section.

The added weight and muted dress work for me.  The black sash or belt may be a nod to the Cause without being overt about it which I think is far smarter than jumping onto a platform of any kind.  She looks like a normal sized pregnant woman.  It's weird for maybe some of us to recognize her this way?

She's somehow lost the plastic look and kind of let go and, for a change, seems comfortable in her own space.

It's still an empty shell of a purposeful life but I can't really find fault with her look nor her bearing this time, which is quite shocking, I must say.
