Lady in red! Pregnant Kate proves her loyalty to the British high street again as she shows off her bump in a £220 Boden coat - but goes without her engagement ring three months before due date

Duchess is opening officially completed Mittal Children's Medical Centre
Will meet staff caring for young patients and talk to clinicians carrying out cutting edge research
Later Duchess will visit a school to see work of Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative

No clue how this is possible, but for some reason she isn't wearing either the ring of doom, nor the eternity ring she bought herself, only her wedding ring

Another new coat though, by Boden, "Lena" model, £220.

Fingers sometimes swell during pregnancy, mine did with my first, so I took my rings off. That might be happening with Kate.

I had to take my rings off during pregnancy, and I honestly didn't swell much. Just enough to know I had better take my rings off or have them cut off later.

The think with Kate though is that she always wears the ring of doom, no matter what. She wore it all the time throughout any pregnancy, weather and travel and whatever else makes us swel, and she never ever took the ring of doom off, and rarely (if ever) the eternity ring she bought herself.
I don't buy the "too swollen to wear" excuse at all, esp as she's wearing her wedding ring. Not wearing stacks and rings that are thinner are more comfortable (when swelling), don't believe it still.
Once she didn't wear the ring of doom temporarily, at a hospital, for "hygienic" reasons, and if anything then that's the case here, though she rarely follows any rules and has vistied hospices and hospitals before and worn all her rings still. As she wore the ring of doom later on, I'd say she didn't wear it like that one time for hygiene.

Quick change! Kate swaps her red Boden coat for £220 joggers as she visits a tennis school for youngsters - and her engagement ring is back ON after spending the morning at Great Ormond Street

Duchess, 36, was officially opening the completed Mittal Children's Medical Centre
Was presented with teddies by young cystic fibrosis patient on arrival at hospital
Met staff caring for young patients and talked to clinicians carrying out cutting edge research
Duchess left £300K ring at home in accordance with hospital policy on minimal jewellery
Later Duchess will visit a school to see work of Wimbledon Junior Tennis Initiative
