The only reason why there are figures out there for Kate and Meghan is that they buy from designers who have the same or similar outfits available to the general public so a guestimate at the figure they paid is made. Camilla, like The Queen, has most of her clothes custom made and so not available to the general public and so it isn't possible to create any sort of figure for her clothes.

^Thank you, meememe.

I’ve never noticed Camilla overspending by way of super exotic clothing etc, so I was interested in how she spends up.

from times to times, it's reported her beauty treatments  and it's cost... Meghan still is 'the queen of spending too much'....

Camilla's numbers have never been revealed and I doubt ever will. I don't think she comes "cheap." I think for obvious reasons more is spent on her than Meghan. SHe even was lavished with jewels CHarles purchased for her.  Her spin is that she never "wanted anything" and of course the large $$$ I think is spent on her would spoil the spin. SHe reportedly had very extensive dental work which most assuredly is not "cheap". The woman also has security at her home paid for by taxpayers, even when she is not there.

Uh, no!!! I’ll never understand a man’s eagerness to push a mistress down the public’s throat like Charles has done with Camilla. She may have those qualities but that doesn’t mean that she’s won over the crowds when some people like that about her.

Has Camilla finally become the People’s Duchess? How Prince Charles’s ‘warm, fun and friendly’ mistress has won over the crowds 20 years after being presented to a hostile public
* It has taken nearly 20 years for the public to warm to the Duchess of Cornwall
* Queen once said she would never be in the same room as Charles' second wife
* Even today some people believe that the Duchess should not be crowned Queen

^it’s quite odd as he seems to smart and ahead of his time but also blindly dumb in pursuing this issue about Camilla. He needs to really drop this. He’s just bringing up the public’s ire over what happened and why this nasty woman’s his wife. There’s no need to push for her to anything else as she has more than enough. He’s quite lucky the public really didn’t get angry and throw rotten eggs at her and him for that matter, such was the dislike for this wh*re who who meddled in a marriage and was the town, city, country bicycle for the elite. bignono sauer How Charles could take such a woman as his wife’s beyond baffling.  dontknow

Camilla's PR team thought that since Meghan is more hated than she is; now would be a good time to put out some "feel good" stories to cement how much better she is than Meghan. Ha ha!

I am a dual citizen, and I'll never accept Tampilla, the Rottweiler. We were promised that she'd never be Queen, and Charles broke his promise! How can we have a couple of lying and conning adulterers as our monarchs? We should have a referendum, as soon as Her Majesty passes away, and get rid of the monarchy for good. We don't need them. All those comments about them helping with tourism are mere lies! Just look at France and Italy, they have no monarchy and are the two countries with more tourism in Europe! Let's kick them all out and turn the palaces in museums.

This article comes across as a distraction from other news (e.g. Brexit).

It has been over 20 years and I would expect that more people will accept her in the role of Duchess and what the future holds. She will not get 100% of the public because there will always be those who do not agree and/or are fans of Diana.

If PC had married Camilla initially (unlikely because she was in love with APB) then there would not be any of these type of articles.

Apparently she is a very nice person by people who have met her. Clearly both PC and Camilla are happy.

Apologies in advance as not all posters will agree to my comments.

I would not say they are "just" fans of Diana. Some just don't like how she got where she is today.

I don't think Charles wanted her for wife and mother of his heirs. He moved on and told his biographer he was not ready to settle down.

I don't see how this woman is remotely a "nice person."  Meeting her for 2 minutes does not give anybody any real knowledge of her. From what she did, she is a manipulator and opportunistic I don't like her or what she stands for also people who cannot stand her will not go to her appearances. I would not leave my home to see her if she were on my corner on an appearance.

Charles got to have his cake and eat it too. Camilla spends time at Raymill away from him.

The "happiness" came at a great price. If he were so "happy" with her and not in love with Diana, he should have just let his brother succeed and be with Camilla. How he treated Diana was abominable. I don't give Camilla free passes. A decent woman would not have behaved as Camilla did.

The icing on the cake for me is how Camilla is pals with Junor and they even vacationed together. She and Charles cooperated with the latest St. Camilla/ Mad Diana book "The Duchess" and Camilla demonstrated her lack of remorse when she gave an interview and whined that she could not leave the house (not thinking that perhaps her actions caused her to be disliked). She never said one word of regret and the woman even had the gall to want to walk into Diana's Memorial service in 2007 and bowed out at the last minute, which totally detracted from the event.

I have never heard of this man before. Why the media push right now or has he been at it all along and I just didn't know about it? Mr Simon Dorante-Dayclaims to look like Prince William.  This can also be aimed at PWilly and outing certain "secrets/conspiracies" but with a twist, ahem... if you know what I mean... ahem From where I sit this is interesting timing...

This man gave an interview to New Idea just before the visit for the Commonwealth Games by Charles and Camilla last year, saying the same old thing. These articles in the British tabloids come from the original one in New Idea, the Australian magazine that specialises in Nicole Kidman pregnancies and Queen Mary of Denmark 'coronations' happening momentarily. In other words, a magazine with no credibility at all!

Charles and Camilla didn't know each other in their teens. Charles was a schoolboy at Gordonstoun then went off to Timbertop School in Victoria Australia to complete his schooling at 17/18. Camilla attended a finishing school in Switzerland, Mon Fertile, and then learned French in Paris for six months at the Institute Britannique when she was 18, something this man seems unaware of. Her teachers and fellow pupils would have certainly been surprised that she was having a baby!

As soon as she came home from Paris Camilla 'came out' as a debutante. There are photos of her coming out party with her mother. Penny Junor's bio gives details of her teenage years. I have the bio.

Charles and Camilla first met when Charles was at university in his early twenties. The fact that this man's relatives worked at BP for the Queen is neither here nor there really. They wouldn't have known the royals personally, and the fact that Simon looks a bit like Tom PB doesn't mean anything either. A lot of people look like others from different families. He seems to have become obsessed with his grandmother's stories, poor man.

^Thanks for the background info thankyou... I don't know anything about C&C early years. When did C&C meet? Do you know? How sad for this man to not know his parents and to be told lies re his birth. So sad and unnecesary. I hope he figures it all out and finds his true birth parents. He really seems to NEED that in his life. Most people do.

PS Oh, Ire-read your post and it seems you already answered my question! Jajaja! Embarrassed

A few years ago there was a story in the Globe tabloid that Charles and Camilla had a daughter (born ca. 1980) that was placed for adoption.

The Dimbleby book Charles authorized biography (1994) tells the story of how they met.  They were never "forbidden" to marry because as Charles told his biographer he felt he was too young to marry and did not pursue the relationship with her He did not even tell her to wait for him when he went to sea on a navy tour.

^ I have a question: is it just me or have British people - including arisots! - given up the rule of "generous enough physical distance in face-to-face conversation to prevent invasion of personal space?"

Just the other day, I saw KM talking too close for comfort with an actress at BAFTA. Now Camilla looks like she may consider kissing this guy she's talking to...

I thought the Brits were the biggest proponents of the rule of "personal space". No?

When I studied in the UK (seems like a lifetime ago), I remember receiving this required "cultural competency" training where int'l students were warned that Brits are likely to expect larger physical distance in face-to-face communication than we may be used to".  Got it.

I could only imagine what aristos might have expected.

And now I see them practicing conversation distances that would make ME uncomfortable.

Hmm. Is this also part of the "Modernization of Monarchy" program?

Looking forward to the time when we can ask them out for a beer.
