I also think no matter who Harry married (Chelsy, Cressida) his wife would be put down in favor of Kate. I recall Chelsy was really trashed on some boards and comments sections during the time Harry was dating her and William was dating Kate.

A new excuse emerged on one of the comments in DM that she does not want to upstage Camilla (Really? So Kate holes up in a house to do this? makes no sense).

Upstaging Camilla? The BRF is in desperate need of a royal superstar and I am certain that they wouldn't worry like they did with Diana (biggest mistake of their life was to yell at her for making the BRF interesting to pay attention to for once) and would love it if WK were popular and successful.

At the risk of being flamed, I never thought Kate would ever make any kind of positive difference for anyone or anything. She just doesn't have that spark and does not have the ability to motivate herself, much less her shiftless husband.

Their so called schedule is nothing of substance, but I do dislike how they are paid so well for doing so little. Millions of pounds a year and despite all that, neither has any kind of interest in making good use of their time and doing day to day routine and perhaps not taking so much from people who have so little.

Anyone else being funded out of the public purse would be held to account but the royals are untouchable. To be a politician and say or suggest you are anti monarchy is considered practically treasonous in the UK.

She must be even more nervous at public speaking now Meghan is in the scene.  I am not a fan of MM but she is good at public speaking.  She is very articulate and intelligent and doesn’t need to read her notes.  Her voice is very pleasant and she comes over well.  Ma must be seething with anger and jealousy as Kate will never be that good.

If Kate were the proactive sort she would be taking public speaking lessons and she'd be out more. Learning on the job is the best way to improve.

If you look at it from PC’s POV, the only people who should be out front and center are William and himself.   I don’t recall Camilla being a big public speaker.  Kate gets by because she’s comfortable in second place with PW.  Let Sparkles speak all she wants.  It won’t change one dang thing in the hierarchy.

Camilla does do speeches for the reading programs and other causes. She apparently did take speech lessons and she never did this sort of thing before 1996 when Charles sent her out to do appearances. She's about twice Kate's age and does speeches. She's not a "great" orator but she does this. Kate does not have to be in "first place" to do some speeches. It is what is expected of a consort and she's stealing nobody's thunder if she improves her speech and she's IMO comfortable doing little I don't see it as her "liking" to be in second place since she's rarely even around now and  does relatively little as far as appearances. Even before the children, she did little. Kate does not even "get by" IMO. She still rides on excuses. None of them will change anything but they should make the effort to bring attention to causes and charities. William does more speeches but his speech does still need improvement, he still ers ums and ahs.

Then she’ll do them.  They won’t be thundering from the mountain speeches but they’ll suffice.  It’s what is said that matters.  I highly doubt Sparkles will keep her initiatives and politics under a basket forever.  She needs to be careful with that.

These people aren’t running for office so it really doesn’t matter as long as they do whatever the public will endure.

No way can she run for President. She can want but this she can't get IMO.

I think Amal has a better shot at it and she's about 100000 to one odds.

Twice in the last two weeks William has been at Duchy of Cornwall meetings. On the 25th October he went with his father but on the 1st November, while Charles was in Africa, William actually chaired the meeting. Clearly he is being trained to take over the Duchy (just as Charles is attending, and sometimes chairing, the meetings of the Duchy of Lancaster). The Queen has a clear transition between reigns in place and these are simply two of the examples - each prince stepping up to see how the next Duchy up runs and becoming actively involved in the running of the Duchies.
