Maternal mental health?  What does she know about it?  She has nannies full time, a full complement of staff, she does not have to lift a finger.  No dubt the nursery is as far away from her bedroom as possible.  No teething problems to keep her awake all night, no anything really. She just continues as if they are not there and do not affect her life at all.  She only trawls them out for pr purposes.  How can she empathise with people about something she does not have a clue about, or how it affects people.  Jeez, they really are giving the bottom of the barrel engagements aren´t they.  A shame for the mothers who do suffer, because she can´t help them.

Kate should cancel.

No one really believes that she even wants to be there anyway and this is more important. She should just stay home and spend money and abuse the staff like she and William get their kicks in doing.

The BRF don't cancel engagements in situations like this unless advised to do so for security reasons. There are many people who have put in many hours of work to make this visit a memorable one for those who will be there so it takes a lot to cancel.

IF the RPOs believe it is too dangerous (and that is their regular job so they will be protecting Kate regardless) then the engagement will be cancelled but otherwise - like all the others planned for today and tomorrow will go ahead.

Yes the Queen has postponed her visit to Scotland Yard but other engagements have been taking place and will continue to do so - as they did in 2005 with the bombings and even some extra ones added as Charles and Camilla visited some of the victims in hospital within a day or so - and of course the 60th anniversary of WWII also still took place on the 10th July (only three days later with over 500,000 in the Mall).

The Queen encourages her family to not give in to terrorism - just as her parents didn't give in and leave Britain during the War. If they could stick around she feels that the family should carry on all the time.

There has been no suggestion that I have seen that Anne's engagement at the Royal Albert Hall should be cancelled so why move one of Kate's which is a lot further from these events than Anne's will be?

Rebecca English‏ @RE_DailyMail
Kate opens her speech by expressing thoughts for those affected by #WestminsterAttack

Interestingly, Kate acknowledges that even for people like herself who have help at home - nannies etc - can still find motherhood tough.

Kate: Personally, becoming a mother has been such a rewarding and wonderful experience. ....

Kate contd: ....However, at times it has also been a huge challenge- even for me who has support at home that most mothers do not.

Yet again, this is an initiative that has enormous potential but falls flat on its face.  I'm going to give her a slight benefit of the doubt that she would like to feel that she's making a difference but in order to do that you have got to put yourself aside and bridge the gap, engage people and she doesn't have that capability.  And we're way overdue for it.  She's had years to build relationships.

She comes off as inexperienced, weak, needy, and not the source of strength, love and empowerment that is needed here.  She is a colossal disappointment.

I know it's most likely the angle of the photo but in the fourth pic the two men have a confused and/or worried look on their faces when speaking to KM. tehe The photo should have been taken differently.

Dreadful speech, she is like a wooden top.  Nothing genuine, warm or sincere, something she has to do end of.  No animation in her face, no smile anywhere to reach her eyes, she really comes over as a very cold, hard hearted person.  Might have been better had she not done a speech, quite obvious she did not want to be there and couldn´t wait to go.

She wore that suit in March 2016.  No new outfit then.  Probably too much spent on that dreadful Chanel gear last weekend in Paris.

Agree with Yooper, this is a visit that definitely fell flat on its face.  She might as well have been a robot, in fact a robot might have been better.

Why do they keep trying to push her out there, it is a miserable fail every time, and yet still the continue to push her out there.  Want a dull, boring and short visit by an allegedl royal - send council cath, works a treat every time.

Actually it is probably the most decent speech she has given, however true or untrue her "experiences" she discussed are.  At least she made a comment about how she "struggles" instead of continuing full-blast with the narrative of how perfect and supported her entire life is.

Who lets her out of the door in that state! And doesn't she have a mirror? The scruffy mess needs a bloody good iron. I actually find that disgusting that she'd turn up in such a state.
