True about the marchioness; no wonder Kate went with all the jewels she could carry: marchioness C and queen L are serious competition!
Yeah, I agree, I think it's always better to speak in the host's language when one has the ability to do so.

An interesting note is that Kate still hasn't received the family order; I think she's now the record holder for waiting this long for it. Aahh, always Waity Katy, eh?
I think Liz should be much firmer instead of burying her head, but at least here she stands her ground. It's just sad that the general public doesn't know about the family order and that Liz gives it only on merit and Kate doesn't have any (at least I think that most people don't know about what the order means and when people reveive it).

Kate could have bagged 2-3 orders (depending on whether they divorce and when and whether a wife receives an order from her husband, but in total she could have received Liz's, Chuck's and -possibly- Bill's), but nope!

Kate's dress seems to be a "bespoke" version of this, pre fall 2017

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DEj1dEEVoAA82Vt.jpg

From the pics I've seen of Kate, she still looks out of depth.
And her "professional" up-do is supposedly again in a hairnet...

PS a reminder on who marchioness Rose Cholmondeley is
Who's Queen Bee of the turnip toffs? They're rural Norfolk neighbours who've got SO much in common. But, sorry Kate, the superglam Marchioness of Cholmondeley lives in even grander style

Kate again in beige. Why is everything bloody beige-nude for her? Maybe it's subconsciously connected to her flashing obsession
Is this Kate's most daring neckline EVER? The Duchess of Cambridge takes the plunge in a dusty pink Marchesa gown at the glittering Buckingham Palace banquet

The Duchess of Cambridge looked breathtaking in a Marchesa gown tonight
The custom floor-length dress featured a plunging V-neck in scalloped lace
The cut was a revealing choice for the duchess, who favours conservative cuts

Kate looks old enough to be Leti's mom.

^^

Those close say Waity deliberately chose a low neckline (as advised by Ma) to take the focus off the beautiful Letizia.

Leti looked superb. Beautiful red gown and tiara. Rather oddly pinned sash though. The Queen and Cam as usual though I wish the Queen had worn another tiara. The chief aquamarine in it is much too large.
Kate's dress was mediocre, her necklace didn't coordinate with anything else she was wearing and as usual she was wearing lace. The gown was low cut but pale pink lace just doesn't do it for me, and that ruby necklace is ugly, I'm afraid.

From those photos it looks like KM is seated behind a massive vase again. As she was during the Chinese State visit.

Harry's wearing two Stars, one is a Spanish Order he must have been given, the Order of Carlos III. William isn't wearing this but may be wearing British Orders. I can't see a photo of him to tell. No Family Order for Kate yet, though.

I like the colour of Kate  dress but it is just too much all together the tiara ,neckless and earrings . A fashion icon  like the press so like to call Kate would never do that.

Lez looks nice in her red dress.

Prince Harry, Andrew and Princess Anne received the Order of Isabel the Catholic for their involvement in the Spanish state visit.

Ridiculous for a bit showing around, the Spaniards are certainly generous imo.
Willnot did not receive any order  tehe
Comment from rd "Will only got the Thistle and the Garter because he is the heir and he got it later than any heir and spare before him. Harry got the KCVO and a Spanish Order because of work. Although I wonder what he did for the new one."

Harry got the KCVO because he is not the future King. The Queen has given that order to all the family other than Philip, Charles and William and as Philip and Charles have served her so well for generations to argue that Harry got that order for his efforts on her behalf fall down when it is remembered that she hasn't given it to her husband or heir.

Some people are seeing this Spanish Order as a snub to William rather than an acknowledgement that Harry, along with Andrew and Anne, hosted the Spanish King on an engagement and this was his way of saying 'thank you' for showing me around.

The Queen also gave Felipe the Garter because he is the King of Spain - not for anything he has done for her or Britain but simply because of who he is - that is all that these people have to do to get awards - turn up and be related to the monarch. They are not rewards for work or effort at all.

Probably for stepping in and doing what the Ducal DoNots won't.  If one of the Dysfunctional Duo were to show me around Westminster Abbey and I  got  Harry instead, you can bet I'd present him with an Order for sparing me from those numb nuts.

Escorting the visiting Head of State to Westminster Abbey is always done by a minor member of the family - not the heir or the heir's heir. They have different roles. Harry is replacing Andrew in doing this as Andrew had another role to play.

This is not something that a future monarch would do in the British way of doing things. If it was the Danish royal family it would be the Duke and/or Duchess of Gloucester for instance who would perform either Harry or Anne's roles - or maybe both - not Charles or William.

I don't like that heirs get awards just for being the heir: being the heir is its own reward, as they will be monarch someday. I can understand giving a foreign king the Order of the Garter, as it's good for international relations. Good on Harry, Andrew and Anne for doing their respective parts.

Typical spot on comment comparing  Waity and Letizia by alexa67 in the DM

'Not to forget intelligent, natural, hardworking, charismatic, beautiful (without caked make up and eyeliner!) and has no qualms about mixing with the ordinary people, no mummy & dad in tow 24/7 - and does not hide her children.'

waity could  certainly learn a lot from Letizia - for starters how to stand up straight. waity's posture is abysmal whereas Letizia always has that presence simply due to how she carries herself  - you could put her  in a bin bag and she'd look good

Beautiful spontaneous pic of F&L. Totally in synch, something some others can't be to save their lives  spy
Letizia wearing a TopShop pleated skirt. Don't know about blouse, shoes, or handbag.

After leaving BP they went to Oxford Uni I think, to visit the Spanish department or some such.

I'm no fan of monarchy in any country (I'm totally opposed to the idea/ concept of "monarchy"), but I think F&L do a very good job.
