Francis Joseph was born in Vienna, Austria in 1830. He was the eldest son of Archduke Francis Charles, who was the brother and heir of Emperor Ferdinand I of Austria.
Francis Charles renounced his right to the throne. Francis Joseph became emperor when Ferdinand abdicated in 1848.
He married Elisabeth, the daughter of Duke Maximilian of Bavaria, in 1854.
Francis Joseph died on November 21, 1916.

I love Sissi, made by Romy Schndeir, I put my hair a little pulled red just because of this movie. But it only appears red when the sun hits. But this movie was a charm. And it seems that men fell easily in love with the true Sissi, everyone fell in love easily with her .... she had charisma.... But the death of this actress who made the film Sissi was a very sad thing, she lost her son, she said that the son was the light of her eyes .... It must be a very cruel pain a mother bury a child ... .and some time later she died, some claim that it was suicide, that she died heartbroken .... today she is buried along with her son in Paris.

Romy Schneider life was really sad. She nearly married Delon but he was cheating on her. Then she had many addictions.

Romy's life was tragic, the end especially.. Sisi's life was fairly tragic too...
Romy's daughter is an actress as well! An acting dynasty, that family..

When Emperor Ferdinand I abdicated in 1848, Archduke Francis became Emperor Francis Joseph I. Did he include Joseph in his regnal name as a tribute to Emperor Joseph II?

^ I don't know, I don't even know whether he had more given names than those two, which would be unusual for the Austrian imperial family to "only" have two names.

Two stories I have with me: Sissi, and Inês de Castro. Inês de Castro is a story fantastic, not even death has separated them. I want to go to Coimbra knows where they are buried easter-egg-basket
But Sissi,  from what I read Franz was always crazy about her, and no woman could replace his love for her.
And as for Romy Schneider, without words to describe her role as Sissi...My father and I already watched Sissi together so much that I believe we already decorate each piece https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D4hoCbUM47A

Wikipedia gives his name as Franz Joseph or Francis Joseph.

Did Francis Joseph have to get a papal dispensation to marry Elisabeth?
