2016 is taking as many lives as it can before it ends.

Everyone is so excited for 2017, but what if it's worse than 2016?  sob  nervous

http://variety.com/2016/film/news/debbie-reynolds-dead-dies-carrie-fisher-mother-1201949432/

Quote
Debbie Reynolds, the Oscar-nominated singer-actress who was the mother of late actress Carrie Fisher, has died at Cedars-Sinai hospital. She was 84.

“She wanted to be with Carrie,” her son Todd Fisher told Variety.

She was taken to the hospital from Todd Fisher’s Beverly Hills house Wednesday after a suspected stroke, the day after her daughter Carrie Fisher died.

The vivacious blonde, who had a close but sometimes tempestuous relationship with her daughter, was one of MGM’s principal stars of the 1950s and ’60s in such films as the 1952 classic “Singin’ in the Rain” and 1964’s “The Unsinkable Molly Brown,” for which she received an Oscar nomination as best actress.

Singing in the Rain is one of my fav all time films - it really is a classic from the days when musicals were popular.  She was fantastic in it too.  So sorry to hear of this - really tough for the family - Todd and Carrie's daughter.  A double funeral - wow.  RIP both ladies and do hope you have been reunited in heaven.

After all, Debbie Reynolds was 84 years old and the shock of Carrie's death was evidently too much for her, bless her.

However, Carrie's death was not a shock to me.  Carrie looked older than her mother in recent photos -- obviously in poor health.  She drank, she did drugs, she lived a fast hard life and it does a number on one's body.  There had been stories that she still used drugs.   She was exerting herself with promoting her new book and the new Star Wars franchise, and I guess her heart just gave out.   It is sad but not unexpected.

I don't know if this is the correct place for this article but I thought it should be posted on this forum.

Please let Betty White make it to at least 100... she's going to be 95 next month... so close.
