Prince William was called ‘work-shy.’ Then things got really nasty.

If the current brouhaha enveloping the royal family has revealed anything, it’s that Prince William may be a git. Certainly, his media folk are looking awfully foolish.

It all started last week, when the tabloids aimed their cannons at Prince William and opened fire. The Sun launched the first salvo, laying into him for undertaking his first royal engagement a mere six weeks into 2016: “While most of us have been grafting for well over a month, his first official engagement came 47 days into the new year.” Soon, he was under withering fire. A Mirror columnist labelled him a “work-shy petulant prince.” The Mail piled on, calling him the “most reluctant—and truculent—of royals.” Poof went his reputation as the dynamic future of the Windsor clan.

William fans are outraged by all the criticism. Look at comments.

Interesting debate on Sky news just now led by Kay Burley with Julia Hartley-Brewer and Robert Jobson.  The heading was is Prince William Workshy as he only does 20 hours work?  Julia was excellent and emphatic that he was workshy and Robert supporting him but half hearted and not convincing.  It is quite clear that the British public are sick of this lazy self entitled pair and would be happy to see the back of them.

^^They only follow what they've been fed by People mag.  Look at that headline, for instance.  It's just screaming to feel defensive towards any attack on PW.  These are people who have no idea what is really going on nor do they bother to do any research.  They are, however, indicative of the very people who buy into the hype and what W/K only listen to.  Very sad, really.  Ignorance drives me batty and these are the poster children for it.

Some practically try to chase others off the board who criticize Prince William. There seems to be a fantasy idea of William being noble because he gives his salary to charity; Kate and William want to spend time with their children and it's wonderful he has only 20 hours; he should not have to work now; he is not paid for by taxpayers and has the money from his mother to live on; it's perfectly fine with the Queen that he is doing what he does so why should others criticize; and others say there are people like Beatrice who can do work instead of William.

^Agree  -  all of which we know is rubbish.  He rarely sees those kids, dislikes intensely any form of work, I very much doubt he has spent a penny of the inheritance he has from  his mother  -  it has to be said although it was what, 10 million, for his lavish lifestyle and etc etc that is peanuts, it would be gone by now.  So who owns KP and AH, not him.  Who paid for the renovations ot the tune of millions - not him.  He is tax payer funded full stop, the same as the rest of the greedy, money grubbing British rf.  Look at HM, approved all those renovations to KP which we were told were about 1 million, only discover it went up to the tune of 4 or 5 million.  Then HM had the cheek to say there were leaky roofs at BP and could she have it paid for by some fund or other. REally, having okayed all they money to pay for renovations for the lazy duo.  That apartment at KP is rarely used, and who needs a ten bedroom house - Anmer Hall, as a country retreat, doubt they are ever there much either, and all that beautiful kitchen thrown out, and what was it that cost 38k in that kitchen, was it some frige, cooker or something.  Yeah, bill medd was never paying for that from his inheritance, that is glued tightly away from using it for anything he can ponce from the taxpayer, which is mostly everything, we probably even pay for thir tissues.  He deserves nothing other than being kicked out to fend for himself, and work to do so.

If you divide the 4.5 million he wasted on KP between the lousy 87 engagements he did last year it costs 50.000 pounds to have Wimpo turn up for half an hour.
And that's only KP, if you add everything else he grabs from the taxpayer the total sum may well be around 150.000 for each time Wimpo shows his clenched jaw somewhere. stop

Let  him stay away and divert the money to the starving kids and homeless people, the people the government are taking money from to keep the likes of the rf.  That puts it to better use than having old ugly horsehead, with   fly skating rink for hair and a peanut for his brain to show us his clenched jaw time and time again.

The only one coming out of this happy is Dr Sarah McNeilly, since it's distracted royal reporters from penning fan fiction about "I bet she seduces William while poor Kate scrubs floors with a baby on each hip"  easter-lol

When they can tell me what "charity" his salary went to and that "charity" can produce a voided check, I'll believe he actually donated his salary.

^You and me both. They can´t even say it went to a specific charity if it didn´t, they would be caught out big time  -  and so they should be if the did that.  Thank goodness the CAA spoke up about time off and said they could do anything they liked with their days off.  More people need to out them rather than just letting them away with it.

William could have just said he was volunteering. ANd that's that. I am amazed how some think it is Nobel PRize worthy for him to donate that salary!

^^Precisely.  And my biggest beef with this whole show of his with his gig with EA.  He is either stupid or greedy or something that he never saw that if he just volunteered he could come and go as he pleased and still get all the glory.  Even more in fact.  There's something deeply wrong with his expectations and view of the world.

If he actually thought that this would be perceived as a real job then it just shows how completely out of touch he, and the royals, are.  Because other people had to sign off on this.  This is not a real job.  Not to those who work and pay taxes and take subways and hire babysitter and all of the rest of it.  He made an a## of himself on this whole thing.

A good interpretation of the situation:

As Prince shirks royal engagements and pilot job, we ask: Where’s Willy?
EXCLUSIVE: He works just 12 of 50 days as pilot, yet carries out only two Royal functions

PRINCE William has worked just 12 shifts as a helicopter pilot since January 1.

His job for East Anglia Air Ambulance has been used to explain why Wills has only managed two royal engagements so far this year.

But he has only flown a helicopter for them on just a dozen of the last 50 days. A flying source said: “We all know it’s a token job for him.

“In the past we haven’t seen him for weeks at a time.

“It’s not as exciting as the RAF. There he’d run off and rescue people from the sea. Here he ferries people to hospital and sits outside for an hour. He looks bored out of his skull.

He’s not overly liked and people are nervous of him. He’s hardly ever here. We didn’t see him for the whole of December.”

The truth is he never ran off in a helicopter rescuing people in SAR. For a start he does not have enoug hours, he is a co-pilot, and then once he dumped SAR the truth came out  -  rarely there, and when he was it was for pr to boost him up after having misbehaved.  Crew had admitted that when a rescued person had bill medd at the helm it was lies, who could see behind the headgear.  He would appear to have spent as little time in Anglesey as cath medd  -  and that was veritually zero.

^^

Where was Willy?
Probably home with Waity and Ma watching boxed sets, quaffing wine or playing his particular favourite computer games with his Xbox, sustained by Ma's cheesy toasts.   Weekends away with the 'boys' (only) and other secret assignations.
