It is, indeed so, so, calculatingly charming!    Kiss

It would be even more charming to see Big Sister Louise spend time with Little Brother James.  Does it ever happen?  Anyone seen any photos?  James hangs out with Savannah.  Louise hangs out with Savannah.  James and Louise do not hang out together.   Very weird.

I think Sophie wants to raise her daughter to be as Edwardian as possible. She basically wants Louise to be as quaint as possible and as little like others her own age; I wager Sophie is already fantasizing about some kind of grand match and wants to just marry Louise off to someone as royal or aristocratic as possible. Parvenus like her are rabid about being as like the class they marry into as humanly possible. Sophie can't get it that this kind of posturing is just making her look worse and annoying.

I think both Edward and Sophie live in a past time where the peasants tugged their forelock in the presence of their betters, I agree KF.

I never understand WHY Sophie is so determinedly Edwardian, when if we lived in such times, she would NEVER have had a chance with a prince. Of that I am sure. She really proves my theory that for one reason or another, those at the bottom in modern times would like to be part of the past elite, so they emulate it during out time. At the risk of going off topic, a lot of the 'modern' princesses seem determined to regress as much as possible; I find this ironic since again, if we lived in Edwardian times, there would be no chance of these women being anything other than official mistresses (at best). You would think that Sophie would have been pathetically grateful we live in a time when she would be able to make it  to the altar with a prince.

Soph is an odd duck. She wants to be THE royal so bad, but her kids are Lady and Viscount, not Princess and Prince (although I could be wrong).

I really do wish someone would put a stop to this concept that once a woman marries in, that the woman in question (like Sophie) deserves to become famous and iconic in her own right. It certainly is something that isn't healthy and clearly Sophie is struggling to understand that she isn't owed stardom or respect. One thing to make a good rep for yourself by doing good charity work, but it's different when she's mouthing off to Charles and getting snotty towards her own security guard.

That'll cheer him up! Edward and Sophie's 10-year-old son Viscount Severn is spotted driving family's Land Rover at Windsor Castle - a day after getting upset at Easter Sunday service

Prince Edward and Sophie Countess Of Wessex were in high spirits as they enjoyed an Easter get together
Ten-year-old James, Viscount Severn was seen driving the family's Land Rover through Windsor Castle
On Sunday the youngster was seen in tears as the Royals attended annual Easter Service at Windsor chapel

I know you don't need a driver's license on private roads and land (so I guess this is not illegal), but wtf he's only 10!!!!! And driving a 4x4 at that!! Those are more difficult to drive than smaller cars (hence a tonne of accidents when idiots with money just get their driver's licence and immediately buy a G-Wagon).

I find this ridiculous and beyond irresponsible. If he were a teenager, fine, (15 and up), but at 10?!? blink

PS And he's on his own in the car!! I thought one of his parents or some adult was with him!! Wtf!!

"According to onlookers, young James was in good spirits today as he drove 'reasonably fast' while taking the 4x4 for a spin around the grounds"

A boy who's still so young to get publically upset and cry into his mum's coat does not belong behind the wheel (of a 4x4!)!!

Could be. I'm sure it would be distressing to find out his dad is a quitter, whiner and possibly gay.

I think it gross that in the DM some commentators trash James because he looked upset at the Easter celebrations. Saying that "something is wrong with him." Kids should not be targeted that way.

But that said, putting the kid behind the wheel of a car is negligence on the part of the parents. When he's a teen he may make Harry and Will look like choir boys.

^ Exactly, on everything.
He's still a kid and being upset publically is hardly abnormal (for his age).

Semms like he might be on someone's lap and not entirely alone, which is still irresponsible and downright dumb.

Children should NOT be driving. Look what happened to Maddie (Jamie Spears' daughter) last year! Terrible idea.

You're turning into a real Lady, Louise: Prince Edward and Sophie Wessex's 14-year-old daughter makes a rare public appearance as she and her mother wear matching navy outfits to the Queen's 92nd birthday concert

Lady Louise Windsor, 14 looked like a real Royal despite her young age
The young royal attended the Queen's birthday concert at the Royal Albert Hall
Kylie Minogue, Shaggy and Craig David were among performers at the event

She did! She must be bursting with pride & joy that she's now taking part in the "adult" events! Quite a milestone for any kid thumbsup

Hmm... after reading about Princess Caroline's childhood, it seems that 14 is an important age in royal families.

What is a real hoot is the fact that when a new bride marries in and attention is on the younger woman, Sophie bares her bosom.
