http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3583260/PIERS-MORGAN-Good-King-Henry-Harry-make-Sorry-William.html loveshower

He’d far rather just be left alone to do his thing - flying the odd helicopter, making as few official royal engagements as he can get away with, going to lots of society weddings, shooting parties and polo matches, and spending holidays frantically trying to avoid the press as his wife takes the ‘official’ photos.

There are several serious treasonable things which are discussed in the members thread as we well know.

I wonder if the Cambs mistreat the staff; I think Carole lords it over staff and Kate just likes to do things out of spite, because she can. Kate strikes me as the type that will leave her dirty clothes all over the place, deliberately make a mess, and possibly subject the staff to verbal insults.

^ if she did then their staff would undoubtedly leave, IMO. Their housekeeper cook  and the nanny have been with the Cambridges for several years now.

Didn't the housekeeping couple decamp back to QE not so long ago and the chef who left recently spoke out negatively in the paper.

The fact that bill was also aware of (and thought funny according to some) the criminal activities of a certain uncle makes him a totally unsuitable future King.

One thing that does get noticeable is how both seem determined to kind of reward themselves, despite not really working.

Kate seems to think that now she's married, her hard work should pay off in the form of a luxury lifestyle and endless pampering, while William is under the delusion that he has evolved into some elder statesman, a status that deserves a better platform and he should be doing 'better' than appearances.

Problem is, neither realized that their hard work was just beginning. Since William didn't start by making appearances, he's not getting meatier positions and since he neglected his education, he has no clue what he's talking about. As for Kate, all her 'work' was in the bedroom and as a result, she has a shady past that won't go away no matter how much PR she has. Like Wallis, she is a mistress who made good, only Kate has an HRH in front of her name.

Wallis kept on feeding David's insecurities and Waity is doing the same.
Wimpo thinks his future subjects killed his mother by their harmless interest in the People's Princess.
He thinks because of that interest the paparazzi went after her and killed her.
He claims he hates the media but I think it goes way deeper.
He hates his future subjects and he makes it clear by refusing to lift a finger for them and by allowing Wasty to literally show her *butt* to the world and not working.
Result: Wasty has the dream life the Viper planned-lazying about and burning money.

I think the real problem that like Wallis, David had a 'too cool for school' attitude towards the system and the courtiers who worked to make it run smoothly. William and Kate are so busy being the fairy-tale that they can't get it into their thick skulls that they do not know everything. The courtiers are not brainless stuffed shirts, but the main problem is that William and Kate can't seem to get it into their heads that they aren't young anymore.

William and Kate are so busy being the fairy-tale    -  that is also their problem, they have not woken up yet to the fact that they are most definitely not a fairy-tale.  The press hyped them up, but bill medd and council cath did not rise to the occasion.  Here we are 5 years down the line and their only achievement so far is to make the British rf a laughing stock world wide and cause the most enormous problems for them, and managing to them to sewer level into the bargain.  What on earth make council cath and council caro think that the world wants to see counccilcath´s naked lady bits on the front pages of newspapers world wide is otally beyond my umnderstanding. We can all have a mishap, that is life, but she continues to have them-  A windy location, a visit to a War Memorial, and she wore a very full skirted frock without hem weights.  Uh, you don´t even need an edcuation for that, it is common sense at every level.

Thing is, with Wallis, her life was not easy. Being the poor relation in a wealthy family and then married to an abusive drunk, she managed to keep herself alive and sane in the face of a society that scorned her and would have preferred she stay in an abusive marriage even if it meant ending up dead. I think she was happy with her second husband, but I think Edward VIII made her feel young and carefree and safe. Meanwhile, Edward felt accepted by Wallis and boyish himself. They had society against them both and really, they had true adversity and faced the world together.

As for William and Kate, there wasn't really a struggle. Ten years of partying and jet setting is not a nightmare and the public was cheering them on to be happy. There wasn't any real adversity and there wasn't any real challenge. Kate being the fairy-tale commoner has been revealed for what it is, what with her stalking him and basically giving death stares to other women while idling around waiting for his phone call. William never had any challenges since he was the Golden Prince since birth and frankly his divorced parents weren't unique at all, so he didn't go through anything exceptional there.

Frankly when you think about it, they've been a big letdown.

I often think that given a chance, Edward and Wallis might have ended up being a good couple on the throne. I THINK the Nazi sympathy was mainly because they were excluded so harshly that there wasn't any other government that would have them. Excluded people often go to the wrong people. Just think, that minus the dynamics of WWII, a union between an English King and an American would have been a bonanza in terms of PR and of course, tightening the alliance between the US and Britain. It would have brought fresh perspective towards the relevance of monarchy in the modern era and of course, shown that women shouldn't be judged by their past mistakes. I believe it would have done so much for the monarchy and of course, been the ultimate fairy-tale.

Ironically, William and Kate had everything going for them, but they threw it away. They could have done dozens of appearances a week and done endless fun things with their interests, but they have thrown it all away.

They're too attached to the fairy-tale; William hasn't let go of his past as the hottest prince on the planet and Kate hasn't moved beyond being the much hyped commoner girl who triumphed over the evil aristocracy. Kate is addicted to competition and drama while William is addicted to his past.

^They believe their own hype and are still sipping Kool aid from 2002 (or whenever they got together) that went sour ages ago. It's no different than the star high school athlete that at 40 years old still tries to ride through life on what he did at 17.

^Yeah; we still get the deluge of how Kate was so glorious in college/grade school and hear constantly about how William is the savior of the monarchy. even at the most recent documentaries, it drools over their time in St. Andrews and go figure, more about how WK beat the odds.

Wallis and Edward never moved beyond being a fairy-tale couple.

Busy Royals? It Must Be Public Accounts Season
Quote
It seems only a few short months ago that the papers were full of stories decrying the laziness of the young royals. Will, in particular, came in for much abuse after it was revealed that he works just 20 hours per week in his job as a helicopter rescue pilot.
But this dizzying blur of activity is occurring not as a response to, or to see off, that spate of unwelcome stories.
Rather, it is part of a long held royal tradition that royal activity steadily ramps up as one approaches the first week of June, when the royal accounts are traditionally published and the Republicans get their big moment to attack the Royals as the cost of maintaining the institution of Monarchy is revealed.

Just think of it as residual hype by habit. The press is in the habit of hyping them and this time in this article, it's pointing out that they're only working in response to criticisms, not because they believe the Cambs are sincere in their desire to do appearances and engage the public.
