Spain's Princess Letizia works to help those with rare diseases
http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/politics/2014/02/10/spain-princess-letizia-works-to-help-those-with-rare-diseases/
Quote
Spain's Princess Letizia, the wife of Crown Prince Felipe, on Monday showed her support for the collaboration agreement reached between the Spanish and Portuguese federations that deal with rare diseases and seek to improve quality of life for those who suffer such illnesses in Ibero-America.

At the Zarzuela Palace, the residence of the royal family outside Madrid, the princess received representatives of both federations, FEDER and FEDRA, who told her about the cooperation agreement they had signed.

Princess Letizia also expressed her support, during two other audiences, for the work of the Spanish Association for Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome, or SWH, which is a member of FEDER, as well as the projects of the Carmen Pardo-Valcarce Foundation, which promote people with mental debilities being integrated into the work force.

The princess, an active supporter of FEDER, follows with interest the initiatives of that organization and of its Portuguese counterpart, focused on improving quality of life for patients and their families

Princess Letizia shows a hint of a wild side with snakeskin blouse and clutch on day out in Madrid with husband Prince Felipe

The Duchess of Cambridge better watch out, there's a new royal poised to steal her style crown.

She may have only come to our attention a few short weeks ago, but Princess Letizia has already carved out a name for herself as a royal style icon, showcasing some serious fashion credentials on every single one of her royal engagements.

The 41-year-old mother-of-two's wardrobe of tailored sheath dresses, sky-scraping court shoes and eye-catching jewels is much more daring than the play-it-safe style of the former Kate Middleton.

Her choice of outfit at today's inauguration of the exhibition 'El Ultimo Viaje de la Fragata Mercedes' (The Last Voyage of the Frigate Mercedes) at the National Archaeological museum in Madrid was case in point.

The glamorous former newsreader may have worn a conservative suit but she still showcased her style credentials with a hint of snakeskin.

DM finally has a glamorous royal to write about.

Letizia is beautiful and she is going to be stylish, I believe the DM is relieved to have someone to write about that is interesting, fashionable, and royal.

On Saturday, the new King and Queen of Spain met with victims of terrorism. The King already paid attention to the victims of terrorism in his speech after he took the oath at the Cortes on Thursday. And now his first act as King, besides the regular things like meeting the PM, is to meet victims of terrorism and their families.

I guess this would qualify as a 9-5 event, but it was on a Saturday  Tongue

She is indeed very, very thin. She was never curved or anything, so being slim/ thin is part of her bone-structure, but those shoulders...yikes.

I guess this is also why she wears pant-suits so often, to keep her very thin legs hidden. Still she looks healthy, her skin is not greyish like Kate and she also uses less make-up than Kate (or it is better applied  laugh).

^Healthy?  Not to me.  When you can see the veins in your upper arms and have nothing between skin and bone on your hands, it's time to re-evaluate things, in my book.

I agree cate and yooper....not healthy and really to skinny....I was really sick a few years ago and looked exactly like that and it's not healthy at all....it's a health scare for sure...my reason was because for 30 years I had no idea i was allergic to Soy and wheat.....this woman needs to focus on taking better care of her body if she thinks that beautifuls or attractive then IMO she needs her head examined...as an ex boyfriend once told me...that look is a look of a bag of bones

I could loose 10-15 kilo's easily (thanks to my hernia I have forgotten how the gym looks) and still I can see the veins in my hands and upper arms. With some people, especially the pale ones, veins will always be more visible. And Letizia is pale and I think she doesn't tan easily but needs to take care she doesn't get sunburned.

BTW A nice story I was once told..do you know where the term 'blue blood' for nobles comes from? It is because in the old days women of noble blood didn't get out much so they looked pale and you could see the veins in their arms, neck etc. And these veins looked blue-ish. Women who worked on the land didn't have that problem because they had a tan.
