Did you know that Elizabeth I who wore vast amounts of pearls had a team of seamstresses dedicated entirely to sewing pearls onto her clothes?

She was definitely her parents' daughter, and not in a good way.

In 1563 Queen Elizabeth I suggested Robert Dudley might marry her cousin, Mary, Queen of Scots. Robert refused to marry Mary. He preferred to stay in England, close to Elizabeth.

If Queen Elizabeth I named either Catherine or Mary Grey as heir, there would be Protestants who supported Henry Hastings.

I do believe that Elizabeth was a tyrant and a monster and she kept avoiding responsibility for anything. She had her mother's relentless all consuming ambition and even Anne Boleyn was no saint. The way Anne persecuted Mary Tudor and Katherine of Aragon is in fact something that should never be glossed over. Elizabeth was just as persecutor towards Mary Queen of Scots as Anne was towards Katherine of Aragon. Elizabeth also tortured the Irish, tormented treason in Scotland, and was someone who refused to even name a successor in her last will and testament.

If Queen Elizabeth I named Mary, Queen of Scots, as heir, there would be Catholics who suggested Lady Margaret Douglas.
