Good one akasha. I hadn't looked at it that way.  :idea:But now you mention it, I am a bit dizzy.

I just finished watching a movie about Alexandra and whilst I'm a history fanatic, she wasn't one of my favs.

King Edward VII, as the Prince of Wales, had been introduced to the pleasures of motoring in 1898 at Warwick Castle. He made a brief excursion in a six-horse-power Daimler.

When furnishing the library at Sandringham House, Edward VII summoned a man from Hatchard's bookstore. Edward instructed him to fill the shelves with whatever books might be considered for a country house.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, Albert Edward and Alexandra, went to stay at Sandringham together for the first time the week after their return from their honeymoon, on March 28, 1864.

Yes, I think they both liked Sandringham. Bertie enjoyed hosting house parties and shoots there, and the flat Norfolk countryside reminded Alex of her native Denmark.

King Edward VII was distressed to see men wearing their uniforms improperly or turning out in civilian clothes which he considered inappropriate for the occasion.
