The headline here is about MM and the Queen, but there are some good points raised in this article about the BRF and the media, especially social media, and how they use it. A BBC Royal correspondent for many years comments on the way the royals now run their PR and get their message out.

Riding high: At 90 the Queen looks elegant in a silk scarf as she heads out on her beloved Fell pony for a trot along the Thames near Windsor Castle

It has always scared the crap out of me to see her in just a scarf instead of proper riding head gear.

She has never worn anything other than a scarf or a formal uniform hat when riding so it doesn't worry me.

Younger people tend to be more hung up on wearing headgear than older ones for whom it wasn't necessary when they were young and so they learnt to have control in ways that the younger ones don't tend to do relying on the headgear, or other protective equipment to save them, rather than skill and technique (not just in riding but in many other fields as well).

^Someone should make a study of why this one still runs and so many 'modern' appliances fizzle out so quickly.

And so she should, far more important for the UK than an Order of the Garter Service, been plenty of those in the past, all they do is honour themselves.  The nation pays for their luxurious lifestyles, they should concentrate on that instead of costing us more in pomp and ceremony that is unnecessary.

QE telling the 'young princes' to stop baring their souls and step up up their duties!   At last, the public really dislike all this soul bearing.  They want Royalty they can respect and look up to.

Her son Charles made a career out of soul baring. She should have nipped this in the bud from Charles' first poor me session, ages ago, then maybe he'd encourage the children not to do the same.

Check this comment:

Quote
The spineless unelected Queen has and will avoid conflict at any cost Already she has said YES to Harry marrying Meghan. By her avoiding conflict she sat on the powerless throne 65 years . The lobomitixed masses her subjects love her because they have nothing bad to say against her , She avoided Conflict for 65 years . a cunning worthless woman.

The Queen turned a blind eye to many events including her son Charles taking married mistress Camilla as his "official escort" to Zimbabwe in 1979. How he got away with that, I'll never know.

She only acts when things get out of control.

Once she let Camilla in, the bar is lowered. She can't keep Meghan out now. Harry is not going to be a King in all likelihood anyway.

I'm really surprised at how HM clearly has no spine left; after Harry marries Meg, HM will look even worse and I am certain that it's all over for the RF.
