^This is true in the US. Accurate or inaccurate.  Love it or *despise* it, it has caused nothing but a new level of praise for the Queen.  And, in better news, more people studying up on her.

^It was interesting that the newsman remarked that Elizabeth II looked very high up when she was seated in the Gold Coach.

I am most thoroughly enjoying The Crown, as are my young adult children.  Have wondered if there’s a thread for the show?

The whole documentary 'The Coronation' is now on YouTube. Some fascinating details about the Crown Jewels, preparations for the Coronation, the people who took part, film of the peers and peeresses and the other guests arriving etc. Little details about the jewels, like the ruby on the Imperial State Crown which is as big as a pigeon's egg, being worn on King Henry Vth helmet at the Battle of Agincourt and a plume from his helmet is actually inside the Jewel and you can see it in there.

New poll on the Royal Family, commissioned by the Spectator. William, Kate and Harry lead the pack according to this very recent poll, overtaking the Queen. Meghan has come up as well, though she is not yet a Royal and IMO shouldn't yet be included.

Somewhat surprising about the Queen, but not very about the others. William, Harry and Kate have been in the most popular four members of the BRF for absolutely years and that is unlikely to change, though Meghan may well join them in years to come.

If the truth were told about William and Kate.......especially Kate, then those polls would drastically change. All who are unsure of what I am talking about go the The Members Only section of this forum.

The comments on DM articles are usually extremely scathing about Kate and Bill and makes them sound very disliked and unpopular.

Extraordinary moment Her Majesty takes her seat alongside Anna Wintour in her first EVER front row appearance at Fashion Week (but Vogue boss raises eyebrows by keeping her shades on)

The monarch, 91, joined fashionistas including Anna Wintour on the front row at the Richard Quinn show
Engagement today marks her inaugural visit to the event, details of which were shrouded in secrecy
She also viewed a millinery exhibition curated by the legendary Stephen Jones prior to the runway show
Royal wore an Angela Kelly duck egg blue tweed dress and jacket embellished with tiny Swarovski crystals

Honestly, I don't like this at all. Now the Winds have slithered into celebrity territory 100%. Can't believe it. With hungry and horrid Anna Wintour, and everyone knows by now how dredaful the fashion and modelling industry is, the stuff that's coming out and the damage these industries inflict upon those inside and outside (pressure to look beautiful and thin not only on the models, but reaching normal people). I think Liz has lost the plot.
Are "royals" now going to elbow "A list" celebrities for 1st row seats?  blink sly thumbsdown

PS I wonder what Liz thought of the horrid designs, I think her face says it all

The fact that this is the first time the Queen has been to a fashion show is interesting but royals have been going to fashion shows for ages.

Diana was a regular at these events. Margaret would attend them before her.

Kate and Sophie have both been regular attendees as well (not always officially) as have both Beatrice and Eugenie.

The only royal woman I have trouble remembering attending fashion shows is Anne and even then she probably has attended and I simply don't remember.

This isn't anything new at all but simply something royals have been doing at least since the 1950s.

I'll copy a comment I read, which I fully agree with:

"she's spent 99% of her life avoiding such vapid events that it's completely out of character for her"

This type of thing is exactly what Liz was always said to be "above" of. Yeah, she was presenting an award named after her (the 1st one ever I think), still it was plain odd and out of character. Then you see "classy" Liz next to "classic" Wintour and you just gotta shake your head.
It was akin to seeing a dolphin and an elephant sitting at a bar and having a drink and a good ole chinwag. Just  blink

The Queen cuts back on royal duties as Prince Charles leads charge for younger generation
Analysis of the Court Circular, the official list of royal engagements, shows that Prince Charles and his brother Prince Edward are leading the charge so far in 2018.

But the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are also doing far more than in previous years.

Charles has undertaken 75 duties in the UK, Edward, 67 including trips to Sri Lanka and India, and Princess Anne, who has been at the Winter Olympics in South Korea, has attended 58 engagements.

So far this year, the royals have completed 482 duties and by the end of this month it will be at least 507.https://www.express.co.uk/news/royal/924066/Royal-family-royal-engagements-Prince-Charles-Prince-Edward-Queen-cuts-back
