Three royal men on the list: Harry at 4th, William at 7th and Philip at 9th. All three are more admired than the Pope.

Only two royal women though - The Queen at 1st and Kate at 9th.

Depends what choices the people voting were given. I personally wouldn't vote for any of them, but in response to your comment, neither would I vote for the pope.

The Queen off-duty: Dressed-down monarch looks engrossed as she takes in the action at the Royal Windsor Horse Show

The Queen has attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show every year since 1943

An interesting article from the Guardian about Republic and it's work in changing public perceptions. Some way to go, from the look of it!

Well it's a start and no one ever said it would happen overnight. Many have great respect for ER but when she goes and we have Chucky then his lazy sons public perception will shift quite rapidly IMHO

Charles has a bad reputation with the public due to his adultery, poor treatment of his ex-wife, his whining, and his meddling in areas where he's supposed to be neutral. William hides a lot so not much is known about him (probably why so many positive polls). I don't think either would make a good King.

ER has lots of respect due to her many years of service.

She has hidden a lot and pulled strings to get members of the RF off the hook which will be sure to come out when she has gone.

The Queen of thrift! Monarch wears £70 quilted jacket available from DEBENHAMS as Duke of Edinburgh makes his first public appearance since his hip operation
Prince Philip delighted onlookers when he made a surprise appearance at the Royal Windsor Horse Show
The Duke, 96, was spotted chatting to his wife through the window of a private car as day three of the event
His appearance today marked the first time he has been seen in public since leaving hospital on April 13
It was claimed last night that he has cast off his crutches just in time for Prince Harry's wedding on May 19
