She is certainly steady on her feet unlike a lot of 91 year olds.

The Queen is a woman of limited intelligence who would prefer to be looking after her dogs, says writer who created The Crown
Quote
‘I wouldn’t have guessed there would be anything more to say about this countryside woman of limited intelligence who would have much preferred looking after her dogs and breeding horses to being Queen.’
He also likened the ‘insane system’ of the monarchy to a virus, in a somewhat unflattering simile.
‘They’re survival organisms, like a mutating virus. Look at how many prime ministers are wheeled out in coffins, on stretchers, having made fools of themselves: Downing Street is full of sick people.
‘And yet she [the Queen] survives. It is clearly a deranged institution and a completely insane system, but perhaps it’s the insanity that makes it work.’

Prince Philip's (very different) new life as a retired royal: Now living in a cottage at Sandringham, he's put in a new kitchen and spends his time reading and painting... and the Queen on duty in London misses him terribly
Quote
They’d spent a few days together last week at Wood Farm, the spacious but modestly furnished cottage on the Sandringham estate that for years has been their bolthole from Palace formality. But the Queen — at 91 — had to return to her duties in London.
The Duke of Edinburgh, 96, went with her on the helicopter flight. But then he flew on to Windsor Castle where he is staying until after the weekend.
Then it’s back to Wood Farm. Now retired from his official life, it was he who organised the new kitchen, one of the subtle changes their lives have undergone lately.
He loves it there and has made it his retirement base, reading, painting watercolours, writing letters and having friends to stay.

What a "modestly furnished cottage", it's a huge house, not a small cottage!

How many servants would be needed to staff a cottage this size?

When Prince Philip's alone at Wood Farm he probably manages with a cook-housekeeper, his valet and a couple of daily cleaners. When the Queen stays there are probably more. In the old days all the royal residences were fully staffed at all times. Nowadays staff travel between houses when the Queen moves to the big house at Sandringham and Balmoral, leaving others behind.

Royal propaganda. Philip married her because he was skint and then went on to have affairs (easily done when you have a plethora of palaces/castles/mansions to choose from to conduct an affair). Elizabeth knew she would have to put up and shut up due to her Uncle Edward abdicating and the furore that caused. She and Philip had to stay together (whether they wanted to or not) as it would cause another furore and possibly the downfall of the monarchy. Then there's Andrew, who looks uncannily like Lord Porc hester, who was Elizabeth's racing manager and close 'friend'. These 'saintly' so called 'royals' aren't as saintly as you think they are.

Me, Somewhere, 3 hours ago
Once, in the sixties, I was at the Newbury railway station with my family when Andrew arrived. Lady Porchester was waiting in her car to take him to Highclere. He was accompanied by his nanny and a detective. I remember thinking how odd for a little boy to be visiting these people all alone without his parents. It still seems strange even today.

Now that does seem strange, but I also think there's an uncanny likeness between the two. And maybe this is why PA is supposedly her favourite. Guilt perhaps?

'Don't be ridiculous': Prince Philip's VERY dismissive response to dinner party guest who asked if he'd watched The Crown

Actor Matt Smith plays the Duke of Edinburgh in Netflix series The Crown
He told how a friend had met Philip at an event and asked if he had seen the show
Philip replied 'don't be ridiculous' and referred to the show as the 'Crown thing'
