Duke of Edinburgh, 97, has 'voluntarily' surrendered his driving licence weeks after Land Rover crash near Sandringham that sent two women to hospital

Prince Philip, 97, was involved in a car accident last month which left two injured
Although uninjured, the Duke of Edinburgh had to be pulled from the wreckage
Buckingham Palace said today that he had 'voluntarily' given up his licence
Norfolk Police have confirmed they are still investigating the cause of the crash

I think that's a very wise decision, whether Philip came to it of his own volition or not. He can always get his RPO to drive him where he wants to go.

He can't have his RPO drive him at all. They can't do their job if they have to concentrate on anything other than protecting their principle. The RPOs are their for protection only not as chauffeurs to to carry things or anything else. He will have to have a chauffeur and an RPO with him.

I've seen RPOs driving Harry to and from clubs in the Chelsy years. I recognised them many times. And I didn't mean every time for PP but just around Sandringham estate.

I assume he has his pride and would have liked to have kept his license but this is a good outcome. I think he should just enjoy his RPOs driving him around now and not have to concentrate on the road etc.

If his RPOs were driving Harry they must have been 'off duty' as they simply can't do their job and drive. It is against the Police rules and the RPOs are first off members of the Metropolitan Police.

Queen to enjoy a rare 'secret' dinner with the US Ambassador in a move that could pave the way for a full state visit for US President Donald Trump
The Queen is set to meet Woody Johnson, US Ambassador in the UK, for dinner
The dinner is believed to take place on March 14 but the palace hasn't confirmed
It comes as discussions on Donald Trump's next visit to the UK are ongoing
Johnson has previously attacked Theresa May saying the UK 'needed leadership'
Buckingham Palace has not officially revealed details of the meeting and a spokeswoman for the Queen said yesterday that they would not comment on a ‘private’ engagement.
But the Mail understands that the dinner is due to take place on March 14.
The elderly Queen seldom undertakes ‘secret’ dinners of this nature any more and if she were to do so, it would normally be held at one of her own royal residences, namely Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle.

The fact that she is willing to go to see the ambassador at his own home is a sign of how significant the event is.

Great to see Princess Anne with the Queen for this occasion. Also a great curtsy easter-egg-basket

There was some concern about the bruise on the Queen's hand. Unfortunately she may have bumped her hand and because of her age the bruise is very noticeable. Hope it was only a slight bump and not anything more serious.

I don't know which thread this is to go in but anyway, the BRF is to get serious about Internet trolling. New guidelines are to be issued and there may be reports to police about some remarks in posts online.

The SM guidelines they should have been doing that from the start ,and I hope they do that across all boards cause both Cambridge and Sussex stans can be awful.

The Queen is radiant in Easter yellow as she's joined by Princess Eugenie to hand out Maundy Thursday coins at St George's Chapel, ahead of her 93rd birthday

The Queen took part in the Maundy Thursday service at Windsor Castle today
Monarch wore a very spring-like yellow outfit for the annual service
She was joined by granddaughter Princess Eugenie, who married in the chapel
Will hand out Maundy money to 93 men and women, one for each of her years

Prince Philip, 97, is spotted behind the wheel for first time since surrendering his driving licence over horror crash as he goes for a drive on private land at Windsor Castle

Duke of Edinburgh was seen driving through grounds of Windsor Castle today
It comes after 97-year-old Prince voluntarily surrendered his licence in February
As castle is located on private land, he is still permitted to drive on them freely
Duke was told recently he would face no criminal action for January horror crash

^ I agree that patterns don't suit Eugenie.

The Queen looks stunning in yellow.
