It's not a case if whether he is willing to take advice, he is not above the law

The entire BRF act like the law doesn't apply to them, nor apparently do the rules of common decency.

It is mandatory for parties to be in touch --for insurance regulations and it should be reported to the police. I am assuming there was a police report.

The police attended the scene of the accident and breathalysed both drivers.

There is a difference between exchanging details for insurance purposes - such as registration numbers - and having contact such as apologising.

As the police have all the details there is no need for any contact between the two parties until such time as the legal procedures are concluded. Then, and only then, should they meet and the 'at fault' driver apologise.

There have been many stories of the elderly (and younger than Philip's 97 years old) that get disoriented and crash into stores because they hit the accelerator instead of the brakes. And there have been people severely injured. Time for Philip to give up driving.

Can Philip be sued by the other driver?

She'll probably be very willing, and will be encouraged to do so.

Queen is joined by Princess Anne and Formula One icon Jackie Stewart for a shooting trip on the Sandringham estate

The Queen headed out on a hunt with a group of local friends on Saturday afternoon on the Royal estate
She was joined by her daughter, Princess Anne, as well as Formula One racing driver Jackie Stewart
The Queen was wrapped up warm in a thick raincoat, headscarf and gloves as watched the shoot from a field
It is the second day this week that the Queen has been out shooting, as she was also spotted on a shoot Friday

Prince Philip finally apologises to mother of two he injured in crash admitting he did not see her car because he was dazzled by the 'low sun' as he waits to hear whether he faces police action over the accident

Police say their investigation into the car crash near the Sandringham estate in Norfolk involving Prince Philip will be ‘complete within the next week or so’.

However, despite the legal uncertainty, Prince Philip wrote a letter to Emma Fairweather who broke her wrist in the accident.

It is understood a similar letter was sent to the driver of the Kia.

Police are examining whether the Prince, who has faced calls to give up his driving licence since the incident, committed any offence.

Officers gave him a warning last Saturday after he was seen driving on a public road without wearing a seatbelt.

It will be interesting when the investigation is complete.

That was very nice to have a personal note. However, I still can't get over that the woman went to the media again despite the police advising otherwise (initially after the accident). The driver of the Kia has remained silent.

All of the Queen's comments, other than the Christmas message, are approved by the Prime Minister's office. That means that asking all sides to respect each other - the theme of the Christmas message as well, was approved by the PM.

The Queen knows what she can and can't say and do and acts only as instructed by the Prime Minister of the day.

The rest of the BRF are the same - although they do have a bit more leeway but largely they say what they are told to say by the government of the day.

To do otherwise would see them at loggerheads with the government and the government would soon make it known if any member was acting unconstitutionally.

^^ She went because she could and with a smashed car, bills to pay, mouths to feed and nonapology from DoE- I don't blame her for going to the media and making a quick buck.

Btw, I found this old picture of QE.

She looks like an angel.

^^That's not the case - Prince Charles has meddled  in politics, his letters are legendary as are Prince Phillip's gaffes.

Anyway I doubt any politicians will take any notice of her, they're too busy looking out for their own interests

Hope this is OK in this thread. Who was the busiest Windsor in Jan/Feb of 2019. Anne was, but Charles, William, Harry and Meghan were up there as well.

The Queen is edging slowly but surely towards her Platinum Jubilee. February 6th is the 67th anniversary of her accession to the Throne.
