There goes my gag reflex again  ick ick ick ick ick ick ick  I hope there is never a *barf* *choking on hairballs* Princess Soph, Skanky thread.  just Skankster's official calendar will suffice.  Please promise RGers.   stop stop stop  with the giving of titles to unworthy skanksters.

It's as if everything is doing a 360 degree turn and royals are becoming 'common' and commoners are becoming royal.  eating cookies bored3 wopedo

I don't understand why it's considered a fairytale that a prince marry a commoner since it's becoming routine, not star crossed or unique. The worst part is that these men are marrying women normal men wouldn't have anything to do with in regards to a respectable relationship or marriage.

To receive regular news, go to "@gossippsychotic" to get updates from various other gossip websites such as "Downtown Chatter" or "Royal Gossip Psychotic" and end up reading all about all sorts of peccadilloes.

My mother´s reaction to this wedding: Considering who the Sweedish royals descend from, why is it surprising at all that he marries an ex porn star? She is a lot more into royal gossip and history than I will ever be. Actually, only Cathy Cambridge´s wierd looking first "baby bump" caught my attention. I know about the BRF because I had to take British History at school.

Indeed, the Bernadottes aren't exactly high and mighty themselves. The first Bernadotte King was an officer in the army of Napoleon and was the son of a farmer IIRC near Pau in the south of France.

When Princess Louise of The Netherlands, granddaughter of King Willem I, wanted to marry Carl of Sweden (who would become Carl XV), there was some frowning because of the doubtfull heritage of the prince, whose mother was a Princess von Leuchtenberg that descends of Eugene de Beauharnais, stepson of Napoleon.

Essentially it was the marriage of Carl XV to Princess Louise and his brother's marriage, Oscar II, to Princess Sophie von Nassau (-Weilburg) that made the family somewhat acceptable in later generations.
And when Oscar's son Gustav V married Princess Viktoria von Baden, the Bernadottes must have been walking on air since Princess Viktoria was a greatgranddaughter of King Gustav IV Adolf of Sweden who was forced to abdicate in 1809 and was succeeded by his uncle Charles XIII who adopted Jean Bernadotte who became Carl XIV Johann of Sweden. So that marriage established a line between the old Holstein-Kings and the Bernadottes.
