Did Tina Fey know? Joke from a 2012 episode of 30 Rock alluded to Harvey Weinstein taking advantage of actresses

Joke featured in a season six episode of the NBC show that aired back in 2012
Jane Krakowski's character was speaking out about how she wasn't afraid of anyone in show business and mentioned Harvey Weinstein by name
She said she had turned down sex with the movie mogul on three occasions
The show also joked about Bill Cosby back in 2009 regarding sex assault allegations leveled against him
Social media users were quick to point out 30 Rock's prior jokes after his long record of misconduct was revealed last week

^^It’s pre-prejudice and any defense lawyer would be able to have any statements to the press made inadmissible.  It is also not information proven in any court of law, not been subject to under oath and so on.  Quite stupid of them.

These people want his career destroyed not justice.  It’s an appalling miscarriage of justice for self interest.

^Nope.  They're all such phony opportunists.  I'm waiting for the true hero who will keep their mouth shut in public and file charges.  Every single one of these alarming stories, if true and with evidence, are felonies.  Hollywood is very good at playing the martyr or changing a story to fit the narrative but rarely, if ever, takes risks.  And Streep is the biggest hypocrite of them all.  She had real power to bring this guy down at the time, but didn't.

Matt Damon called 'spineless profiteer who stays silent' by Harvey Weinstein victim Rose McGowan after it is revealed he and Russell Crowe helped kill a story about mogul's harassment

The Wrap founder Sharon Waxman says Matt Damon and Russell Crowe called her in 2004 to stop a negative story about Harvey Weinstein
At the time, Waxman was working for the New York Times and had been given the green light to investigate claims about the exec's inappropriate behavior
She says she found proof that Weinstein sexually harassed at least one woman, who then got a payout
Multiple sources told her that a man hired by Weinstein's former Miramax company had been put on the payroll to procure women for him
Waxman says Damon and Crowe called her to vouch for that man, Fabrizio Lombardo, and eventually the story was killed
Weinsten victim Rose McGowan responded to this by tweeting: 'Hey @Mattdamon what’s it like to be a spineless profiteer who stays silent?'

Apparently, according to some blind gossip/item sites, his wife knew about these incidents but did nothing as all the contacts that HW had, would help her in her career. And they did help her career.

Apparently, according to these websites, HW would have sex with Gretchen Moll, and she'd be forced to have sex with HW's associates in return for her just being able to read a script. Even when she was married. Nothing about getting an acting part in it. Just a chance to read the script.

Sick all round. But that is if you believe the gossip that was written several years ago.

I always found him a douche bag. But that's my personal opinion.

I'm shocked beyond words, the casting couch is not something new but harassment is a whole other thing. It just proves that having a respectable reputation is sometimes just a cover up for all the depraved things that these people force others to do. sob

^I wish I could be as shocked.  This, unfortunately, is the norm not the exception.  And, tbh, I’ve heard worse.  What people will do for advancement in this industry is mind blowing.  Anybody in power can practically get away with murder.  And has come to think of it.

'EVERYONE is complicit': Hollywood's soul-searching begins as Jennifer Lawrence, Kate Winslet and George Clooney line up to condemn movie mogul Harvey Weinstein over sex claims

Lawrence: 'I was deeply disturbed to hear the news about Harvey Weinstein's behavior. This kind of abuse is inexcusable and absolutely upsetting'
They have turned on shamed movie mogul who has been fired from his own firm
Clooney said in an interview the problem was 'deeply ingrained in our society'

I'd expect that Jennifer Lawrence has a few stories to tell, too..

Getting away with murder... Doesn't suprise me.

Has any of you watched the short-lived Amazon TV series The Last Tycoon? Quite good and shows Hollywood's ugliest side, too, though it's set in the 1930s.

^^I don't understand what you're asking there.  The amount of suspicious deaths in H'wood is infamous if that's  where you're going.  They're untouchable or have so much power that nobody will come forth with evidence.

^"Hollywood Soul Searching".  That's a laugh.  They're the biggest hypocrites out there.  They're always banging on about women's rights, spousal abuse, diversity, all the injustices of any society and they're the epitome of turning a blind eye just to get ahead.  Always have been.  Weinstein was the worst kept secret out there.  I wonder if anybody will have the cojones to come forward on other directors, producers.  Doubt it.

^ Sorry I didn't mean to sound confusing. I wasn't asking anything, I was just saying that I'd never heard of people in Hollywood getting away with murder but I believe you, I never paid attention much attention to Hollywood, I have to admit. I heard of other people getting away with murder, but they work on other fields, not in the entertainment industry. Lips Sealed

^No problem.  I understand.  It's a giant cesspool of haughty, judgmental opportunists.  Probably worse than D.C., which is saying a lot.  OJ Simpson is a classic example of Hollywood hypocrisy.  His murdered wife had been desperate for someone to listen to her but nobody, from the police down to his industry friends did one dang thing.  And then, when he's on trial, out come the celebrity defense attorneys.  Disgusting.

I just hope this slows down their constant moral outrage over everything.  They lost a lot of credibility with this.  No late night mention of this guy tells me a lot.  I wonder when HRC is going to step up and explain the huge Weinstein money to her campaign and the DNC.  For over 10 years.   It's already too late, really.

But, knowing this bunch as well as I do, the next step will be to play the Victim Card.  They're masters at that.

Now saying he's "forced himself" on Angelina Jolie & Gwyneth Paltrow (in the above article). In short, I think it's sound to say: think of any actress of the past couple of decades (and more), and the likelihood that she was harrassed by Weinstein grows exponentially. And that's just the actresses. What about singers, writers, cleaners, makeup artists etc etc etc...  ick
