thumbsup good to hear you're working on it.
You know this reminds me of nyc in the 80ies, are there many gang related issues?
I can imagine Mexican cartels taking over a block or two in the hoods.
Perhaps trumps 'borderwall' isnt the craziest idea (never thought I'd say that.. blink)

^The gangs in Mexico are a horror show and how they've tarnished beautiful Mexico is so sad.  But, yes, the gangs are responsible for the majority of violence coming across the border.  Some from Mexico, some from Central America.  (Check out M13 if you like).  Add to that the drug epidemic in cities like San Diego now and you've got a ghastly situation.  The city has changed drastically in the last few years and not for the better, I'm sad to report.

It is true, the wall is needed in that part of our country right now but also along with a much better immigration policy and coordination of efforts between the local and federal authorities.  And added agents. Even some of the most diehard liberals realize that this is not a Trump issue but a social experiment gone wrong.  Disliking the new administration and fighting against its policies has not decreased the systemic violence, debt and drug-related problems.  Let's just go with that.

In regards to the borders, our troops should be pulled from bases in countries that are no longer a threat and be stationed at the border and the regular border patrol can advise troops on how to scour and handle illegals sneaking through. I also believe that in regards to the drug issue of the cartels, I did read that the locals and government in Mexico would prefer to come to a deal that would consist of the government and locals looking the other way and in exchange, the cartels leave the uninvolved (and their loved ones) strictly alone. Basically, if someone isn't a member of the cartel or part of a rival cartel, that person and that person's family are not to be harmed or have their lives interfered with in any way.

The reason Presidents Trump and Macron bowed out of the ceremony was NOT because of rain, but because there were credible sources, note more than one credible source, that Macron was going to be assassinated.

A cover story had to be concocted and that was the best they could come up with.

Don't believe the story about the rain.

^ There had to have been a reason.  President Trump never misses an opportunity to pay respects to the military.

I wish they would just tell the truth of the matter and let the public know. The public should stop being coddled with the soft lies and be told the cold hard truth. Time to stop protecting the public from  the vicious realities of what goes on.

^ I'm 100% with you on Trump. However, there's so many good things that come with him. Now the media is fact checking their news. They try to be less divisive in their panels. They are so quick at seeing the political plays and explain the different laws to common folks in detail. They educate. The otherwise hidden people with nationalist views are no longer a secret. The people who use power for personal gain are exposed daily, including the schemes they run. A few good laws and a good riddance by losing 2020 would be enough.

As for 2020. OMG, Chillary is running again. OMG. Can she just let it go. Nancy and Beto are much more inspiring than her: "Why didn't you vote in 2016?" (She used to say this a lot during book tour interviews. Blaming is not the path to winning.)

^^casie

Not once, not once, have I ever disclosed my feelings about President Trump on this forum. I’m British so my immediate concern is who is the UK Prime Minister.

There were also reports that President Trump may also have been the subject of an assassination attempt in France. Whatever the truth of what was found will ever be made public, I don’t know. But I don’t appreciate your tone when all I was doing was reporting what was said.

And to repeat, I have never disclosed my feelings about the US leader on this forum, regardless of how I feel towards him.

If you have antipathy towards me, then that’s your problem. In future, don’t shoot the messenger when you don’t like the message. OK?  flower

The tone on this thread has or is becoming beneath our standards.  No one should ever feel attacked or offended.  For the foreseeable future and because this discussion does not get us anywhere near understanding, this thread is locked.

If you have any issues with this, pm me personally.  YM

Two things.  Maybe 3.

1.  Casie has asked that any offensive posts be removed and just got kind of carried away.  It happens to all of us and she is sorry.  We all understand I’m sure.

2.  The thread will be opened after I’m done here, but,

3.  Courtesy, consideration and politeness is the order of the day on this or any thread.  Politics are a heated discussion, of course, but please be mindful that there is a whole world out there to release your frustrations.  This is a Gossip site so be careful when posting here or another lockdown awaits

I know we can all play nice and appreciate it.  Thank you  flower

I know. I got carried away on another thread in this forum and this isn’t the place for it. And I was rightly taken to task about it. I got a bit carried away too. So no problem there and no hard feelings from me.

So thank you YooperModerator.  thankyou

And Casie here’s a hug from me to you.  flower   loveshower
