Harry the Harbour master: A week after Pippa’s Sydney honeymoon, prince prepares to take to the water to watch a boat race and promote the Invictus Games (and he’s still wearing his Meghan bracelet)

Pippa's honeymoon has to be dragged out in every story. I'm surprised the little girl that hugged Charles did not say she adored Pippa's wedding.

Good on you, Harry! Aussies certainly do enjoy themselves as much as possible everywhere they are! They were certainly out in force on that dreadful Saturday night as they figure largely among the casualties, unfortunately. It's cold in Australia now, almost winter, so it's good for those listening that he made his speech indoors. However he has a full schedule of Invictus events happening today.

He is looking very happy lately. Good to see!

The Harry visit was on our news tonight. Horrendous weather, thunder storms and rain much of the day, but that didn't stop him. He was jovial and had a chat to everyone he saw, was offered a cuppa and one of our famous TimTam biscuits, and scones. People were getting wet, Harry was soaked to the skin, but spirits were high. He saw a girl who had kissed him on the lips, much to his horror, on his last trip to Aus, and a 97 year old ex serviceman's widow, to whom he gave a big kiss. There were comments about him being so charasmatic and down to earth. He certainly captured those people's hearts!

Speech

Good morning everyone.

Can I start by also sending my thoughts to those affected by Saturday's attack in London Bridge. Australians form an important and vibrant part of the fabric of life in London and we are reminded of that in good times and bad. Our hearts go out to the victims, their friends and families.

^ Harry charmed that rain-soaked crowd. He told 97 year old Daphne, whom he met and kissed again, remembering that they met two years ago on his last visit to Aus, that his face has been lopsided since she last kissed him, on his other cheek!

Harry's received a lot of kudos in Australia since he got here for his good humour and demeanour in greeting the public and Invictus competitors.

A long way to come, and a somewhat wet visit but a successful one. Harry will of course be back in 2018, but I have enjoyed the coverage very much, including here on Royal Gossip, so thank you very much, Fly on the Wall.  thumbsup
