Except for the yellow one, it's to odd for my taste! it's as if they chopped of her head! royalguard
That's definitely an expo I want to go see!
hmm you can see it in London, Cardiff, Belfast and Edinburgh.
I wonder when it's on show in London? easter-think

I, too, Alexandrine.  The photo of her laughing, leaning over the edge of the ship is priceless and really charming.

On topic and off topic  TCP baking cookies

http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/222761/Queen-agrees-to-show-TV-show-that-changed-monarchy

to mark the Diamond Jubilee a snippet from the 1969 fly on the wall documentary is to be shown. Until now broadcasting any of the documentary was banned.

How sweet, it was designed by a ten year old girl, who won the competition for children aged 6-14 years to design the emblem!!

Jewellery fit for a Queen: Monarch to unveil collection of private treasures in time for 2012 Jubilee
 http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1384373/Jewellery-fit-Queen-Monarch-unveil-collection-private-treasures-time-2012-Jubilee.html#ixzz1Llh7uD8L

Quote
The Royal Collection decided the exhibition would be appropriate in the Queen’s 60th anniversary year as ‘diamonds are the hardest natural material known,  carrying associations of endurance and longevity’.
Several other exhibitions will take place next year to mark the occasion, including: a display of remarkable anatomical drawings by Leonardo da Vinci at The Queen’s Gallery at Buckingham Palace; a touring display of other works by the same artist which will take in cities including Bristol, Dundee and Hull; and 60 carefully-chosen informal and unusual press photographs, each to mark a  year of her reign, at Windsor Castle.
Another display at her official residence in Scotland, Holyrood House, will include a Monet bought by the late Queen Mother in 1945. Despite pleading poverty and possessing an infeasibly large overdraft, she was a great collector of art.
Most of the items on display are owned by the Queen on behalf of the nation while others – such as those given to her as wedding presents - are her own, private belongings.

4 days will things be closed and businesses too.Because that's a bad idea especially for a small business or a ma and pa shop that don't have income coming in, can make or break them. Some very good comments on the DM from some people.

There is some griping already, I see, but this event is just too huge to not be accepting.  'Could be wrong!

I have mixed feeling with this, 4 days for normal people who run households that will be unable to work and support there family's could be a problem for some ...just saying

Hm.  4 days is a lot of lost income and may be pushing it a bit, but it's a once-in-a-lifetime thing, so not sure what to make of this.   dontknow

maybe HM can send out some checks from the 7,000,000 million or so that she gets a year for being head of state.  It's not fair that the working class will have to suffer because the queen is 60years and going...the Weekend should be good enough IMO the dinners that will be done in her honour, the trooping of the colour could be done maybe differently...just seem like a great loss to most of the working in this case...
