ARMED police pointed their guns at Prince Andrew and ordered him to “put your hands up and get on the ground” after mistaking him for an intruder in the gardens of Buckingham Palace.

For a tense half a minute the Queen’s 53-year-old son was in danger of being shot dead by officers paid to protect him and his family.

Maybe it was an ex-lover; we know how they can get.

Andrew has a new argument for protection officers for his daughters.

Now he can argue that they should be reinstated since they can't even visit granny's home without being placed in danger.

I bet people are waiting for just such a claim, and I bet people will argue, go somewhere else to visit.  Besides isn't PE in NYC and Bea is on holiday.  I can already smell the fury coming if he tries that.  The public sees them as vultures.   sorry  but it is true.

Another article claimed that PA was furious and the police are pissed, they let an intruder in & held PA at gun point. Not a good week for the police.

There are also reports that the guns weren't drawn at all but that the police did ask him to identify himself and as soon as they realised who he was situation over. He was afterall in his own garden (yes I know it is the Queen's home but it is also Andrew's London home as he has an apartment in BP). It sounds like the police were erring on the side of caution - and no doubt when Andrew looks at the situation in the cold light of day he will understand it was better for him to be uncomfortable for a few seconds than for there to be another security breach.

As for the girls - Eugenie isn't due to move to NY until October, I believe, - and Beatrice is supposed to be interviewing for another job.

Quote
Experts believe the Duke of York raided his mother’s bedroom and then waited in the Palace grounds until he was confronted by armed officers who did not recognise him immediately.

The Duke would then have pretended to be furious, asking the officers if they knew who he was, before walking away without being searched.

Tom Logan, a burglar, said: “Andrew has played this one surprisingly well.

“Not only will the officers have been embarrassed by the fact that they tried to arrest a prince, but they will also automatically assume that Andrew is too stupid and useless to have concocted a jewel robbery.

“The incident would have been the perfect distraction as he slipped out of the country. I suspect he is already sunning himself on the Cote D’Azur while sipping a big, fancy cocktail.”

It is understood Prince Andrew has been planning to steal from his mother since the last of his central Asian ‘business patrons’ realised he was a total and utter waste of time.

Insiders have also speculated that the rekindling of his romance with ex-wife Sarah means he needs the extra cash to feed her insatiable desire for gaudy trinkets.

A source said: “Now he has escaped with the diamonds it’ll be nothing but golf, golf, golf.”

Someone should tell this arsehole that police are in a high tension, high strung state and can't think like we do; considering the location of the break in and recent terror events, obviously the police weren't going to be thinking about remembering the faces of the royal family. It was obvious they were more worried about a possible terrorist attack.

I think the Police were over zealous because they let a burglar get into BP just a few days before.

He sounds like a right idiot. Even if the police had an idea who he was, I think that they still acted correctly in that they still need verification. How come this doofus’ protection office didn’t know that he’d be taking a walk in that secluded area. I recon the police would’ve thought that all of the royals were up in Balmoral with HM during this time of the year. This chap seems to find trouble doesn’t he. He was at Windsor when that fire broke out and now at BP when an intruder enters.  Why’s Harry hanging out with this twit?

Totally agree. There is really no excuse for the behavior of the police regardless of what one thinks of Prince Andrew.

yeah it's not cool having a gun pointed at you...but PA doesn't have to be a di*k about the situation either this coming from a man who can run people over in his car and get away with it
