Zara Phillips' NHS birth plan

ZARA PHILLIPS is planning a “no frills” birth on the NHS for her baby due next month, the Sunday Express can reveal.

Although the arrival of the Queen’s fourth great grandchild will be the first big royal event of 2014, Zara and husband Mike Tindall want their child to have as “normal” an upbringing as possible.

The baby will be 16th in line to the throne but, like Zara and her brother Peter, he or she will have no royal title.

Zara also wants to resume her equestrian career soon and will take the baby with her on the eventing circuit, without the support of nannies.

Zara, 32, is expected to give birth at the NHS Gloucester Royal Hospital, close to mother Princess Anne’s Gatcombe Park estate where she and Tindall live.

The baby is due on January 14 but friends said the couple wouldn’t be surprised if the boy or girl arrives earlier.

Heavily pregnant Zara accompanied the Queen to church at Sandringham on Christmas Day, riding with her in a car while the rest of the royals walked.

thanks Fly - It is interesting that Anne did not want either of her husbands to accept titles nor her children then to have titles.  Has anyone ever asked Anne to explain why she made this decision?

As far as the kids, I heard it was so they could have more freedoms.

Heavily pregnant Zara Phillips wraps up her baby bump for a day at the races

EXPECTANT mother Zara Phillips enjoyed a day at the races with just weeks to go until she gives birth to her little bundle of joy.

Wrapping up in a wooly bobble hat and a padded puffer coat with a thick fur trim, Zara ensured she and her blossoming bump were protected from the harsh December weather.

Tucking her jeans into knee-high tan leather boots, Ms Phillips' fluffy winter socks were visibly peeping above her sensible choice of footwear.

Accompanied by her mother Princess Anne, who was sporting a fur hat; the Queen's granddaughter was enjoying a day at the Point-to-Point races in Cambridgeshire.

The event is close to the Sandringham estate, where Zara spent Baby George's first Christmas with the Queen and the rest of the royal family.
The royals had two runners at the Cambridgeshire race, Zara's own horse, Frankenstorm and a horse belonging to her mother First Watch.

Zara's baby will be her first child with rugby ace husband Mike Tindall.

The tot will be the Queen's fourth great-grandchild and the 16th in line to the throne, although the boy or girl will not hold a royal title.

What makes you think that?  Isn't it standard procedure for the royal family to lie about the offspring?  What about her stomach appearing to fold in half during her walk the other day?  Perhaps with luck, someone will give birth the next day, and then everyone will know that she was the surrogate.

Not long now! Zara Phillips looks ready to pop as she watches her horses compete at point-to-point just days from her due date

The 32-year-old wore a cosy parka to the Heythrop Hunt Point-to-Point
Three of her horses competed, including one owned by Princess Anne
Just days away from her due date with her first child expected this month

She's just days from giving birth but even impending motherhood couldn't keep Zara Phillips away from her beloved horses.

The Olympic silver medallist was on hand to monitor her equine charges as they were put through their paces during the Heythrop Hunt Point-to-Point races in Gloucestershire.

The 32-year-old, whose first child is due this month, was later spotted making her way through the paddock to a vantage point on the sidelines and watched intently as her runners flashed past.

Great pics of Zara - she looks happy and healthy. She has friends, interests, talent and a lack of vanity.

I hope she has a complication-free delivery.

To me, she appears a strong-minded, grounded woman.

She looks like a normal pregnant lady Kiss

"Much to the surprise of onlookers, the Queen, who was colourfully dressed in a turquoise ensemble, once more refused to accept flowers from waiting children, and left the honours to a lady-in-waiting."

This is getting out of hand. Their PR people need to stop sitting back. I know the wellwishers are throwing HM for a loop, but someone needs to come up with a backup plan dontknow

Does anyone else notice that Zara stands like a true pregnant woman with her top half of her body slightly leaning back to balance her center of gravity?

IMO, she looks beautiful.  Kiss

Agree she does look beautiful, just as an expectant mum should.  And yes, she does have that shift in the centre of gravity to accommodate for the extra weight at the front, a trait of pregnancy, probably why so many women get a bad back after child birth.  She looks really lovely.   Kiss

Apart from all the lovely comments about Zara, and seeing her looking so blooming,
one poster in the DM drew attention to how much Zara and Harry resemble each other
around the eyes.  I had already noted that but it was so nice to have it commented
on by a commenter.

Good luck Zara and Mike  flower

^ it's that Prince Phillip look - his eyes to me are set the same way

I am feeling sympathy for Zara - she looks ready to go and I bet she can't wait.  Hope her labor is short, her delivery uneventful and the baby is healthy.

The Queen does look lovely in that color - I do wonder if it is a concern about flu that is keeping her from collecting the flowers from the children.  At her age flu could be very serious.  If it is - the Palace needs to make an announcement.

Yes, it would come across a lot better if the palace could give a sensible reason for HM not accepting flowers - otherwise it comes across a bit snotty.

Not wanting germs at HM's age is a good one.
