First the Queen, now Prince Charles enjoys a pay rise: Welcome boost to meet growing demands from William, Kate and Harry

Prince of Wales sees income from Duchy of Cornwall rise by 4%
But he paid out £1million to meet costs of Duke and Duchess and Harry
Queen in line for 5% increase in income from the Crown Estate

Quote
Just a day after it emerged that his mother was being given an inflation-beating five per cent pay rise, Prince Charles’s annual income is also on the up.

Thanks to record profits of £19 million from the Duchy of Cornwall last year, the heir to the throne enjoyed an extra £763,000 in his ‘pay packet’, an increase of four per cent.

The rise was clearly welcome as Charles forked out around £1 million from his personal funds to meet the growing official activities of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry.

What growing official activities Lazy's constant shopping right? Wasting millions on clothes and makeup and fake hair and fake tanning that's the growing activities.

Charles in tax storm as top MP compares the Prince to Starbucks and calls for him to pay more

Margaret Hodge MP demanded overhaul of Prince Charles' tax arrangements
Charles has never voluntarily revealed tax arrangements of Duchy estate
Duchy spokeswoman pointed out it is not a public body or taxpayer-funded

In the DM story linked below it says C4 Dispatches is running a special on the Duchy tomorrow evening so I'll get the popcorn ready.

Quote
The Dispatches programme, to be broadcast tomorrow, seeks to lift the lid on the Duchy’s individual property dealings and transactions which it claims the Royal estate has never voluntarily revealed. These include:

The £1.3 million-a-year income in rent it receives from the taxpayer for Dartmoor Prison because the Duchy owns the site.
The £38 million purchase of a huge warehouse distribution unit in Milton Keynes from which it receives more than £2 million in rent a year from supermarket chain Waitrose.
The Hole in the Wall bar in Exeter from which the Duchy takes ten per cent of the profits.
Margaret Hodge, MP, British Labour politician
Demand: Margaret Hodge MP is chairman of the powerful Commons Public Accounts Committee
The programme also says it has discovered that the Duchy made millions of pounds selling off farms that it bought from the Prudential in 2000.
Two such sales in Oxfordshire led to the Duchy earning £9.3 million which, says Dispatches, could have netted the estate a £6 million profit.
But because the Duchy of Cornwall pays no corporation tax or capital gains tax, it could have avoided paying more than £1 million in tax on the deals, the programme claims.

And more trouble on the horizon - a Labour peer claims the Duchy is ripping off its Cornish tenants (and the peer is an old Etonian).

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2420936/The-Queen-Charles-agree-share-spoils-new-Cornish-gold-bonanza.html

Quote
The Queen has struck a deal with Prince Charles to split the proceeds of gold reserves which have been discovered in Cornwall.

After prospectors found ‘commercial quantities’ of the precious metal, royal advisers  have decided to resolve a centuries-old row between the Crown Estate and Charles’s Duchy of Cornwall over who has the right to the profits.

The deal came after businessmen reopened an old Cornish tin mine and concluded that there may be millions of pounds of gold there.

The Crown Estate, which until now has claimed proceeds from mining in the area, agreed to hand half of any profits to the Duchy.

But the deal has upset anti-monarchist campaigners, who said that while Crown Estate revenues go directly to the Treasury, the Duchy, which funds Charles’ activities, is exempt from corporation tax.

The gold was found at South Crofty mine, near Camborne, which was once the heart of Cornwall’s historic tin industry.  It remained closed for nearly a decade until Western United Mines was granted permission to search for tin, copper, zinc and other metals in 2006.

These people are much richer than they let on. They are greedy and grasping and could care less about the people of the UK.

Surely there is a simple solution to these embarrassing episodes.

All Prince Charles has to do is bring out his own cheque book and pay for his own luxury lifestyle.

I think he would abdicate before he would spend his own money.

Scrounging, parasitic, second nature with this lot! The fake Royals are nothing more than a 'mafia family', aristocrats who merged with the
Mafia to gain control and monopolize trade routes!

"European dynastic families constitute a financial oligarchy; they are the power behind the Windsor throne [Britain]. They view themselves as the heirs to the Venetian oligarchy, Black Nobility = Mafia.

You see, this is why Kate got William; she managed to fake having millions in her background so go figure, he fell for it.

I thought he was meant to be above getting donations for things like this and freebies. Pay for your own expensive b*oody party Charlie! No wonder why he had to argue for more invitations during his son's wedding to return the favour invite his 'connections'.

He is still the useless lying parasite he was back in his youth but is increasingly being overshadowed by Weak Willy and Waity. The entitlement is getting worse every generation.

the apple never falls far from the tree......

The kicker to me is - his father yelled at him for doing this - his parents do have some ethics - they failed to pass them on.

That is what happens when you let shady, greedy and self-entitled people become a major part of your child's life. Charles has the worst traits of the Queen Mother and Louis Mountbatten, neither of them would have given Charles much of a toss if he wasn't the crown prince. That being said, he has been old enough to know better for ages, he has no excuse and should stop whining about his distant parents and blaming them for all the crap in his life.

- At least Anne escaped and became a good royal.

Agreed.
Edward too is doing alright.
He went to Gordonstoun and he has the same parents yet you don't hear him whining and blaming others.
Instead he has been growing as a person for the past 10 years, is working and appears to be a good husband and father.

Charles has always been like this. He was all chummy with Robert Maxwell, who Diana really disliked. Look what he turned out to be!

He has poor judgement in who he keeps as friends.
