The Prince of Wales is to guest edit a special edition of Country Life magazine in honour of his 65th birthday, filling its pages with the issues closest to his heart.

The Prince, who recently appeared on BBC Countryfile, will write his own “extended” leader column for the magazine as well as commissioning articles on his favourite topics.

It will be the first time a member of the Royal family has guest edited a magazine so comprehensively, as he and the Duchess of Cornwall take the reins for a week.

The magazine, to be published on November 13 in honour of the Prince’s 65th birthday, is expected to contain articles about rural affairs, organic farming, architecture and at least some of his 16 charities.
