An interesting article on Prince Charles and Edward VII:

"There are great similarities between the two, yet also great disparities. What no one should lose sight of, however, is that for all the travails of his apprenticeship, Edward VII was a popular and quite successful king. There is, happily, no prospect of the throne falling vacant in the near future. But the lesson of Edward VII suggests that even if Charles must wait another 20 years, he can still be a force for good once he gets there. After all, 80 is the new 60."
