Princess Perfect: How Beatrice is turning into a most unusual young royal (old article)

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-496129/Princess-Perfect-How-Beatrice-turning-unusual-young-royal.html

Quote
"Bea doesn't want to make the same mistakes as her mother," says a family friend. "She is very aware of her family responsibilities. But she doesn't want to live like a princess. She wants to stand on her own two feet."

Unlike William and Harry, she will not have a formal role in royal life and is casting round for a fulfilling - and fulltime - career.

"It will not be a pretend sinecure like Kate Middleton's at Jigsaw,' says one of her mother's friends. 'Whatever she does, it will be a proper job."

I hope Princess Beatrice will do something constructive with her life.  Hope to god she's got more brains than her male older cousins do!

Whoa! That burn on Waity from one of Sarah's friends. Who here predicted that Sarah would be the one to start leaking/lead the teardown of Waity in the press? Flowers to whoever did!  flower

Please remember that the article is from 2007! Beatrice hadn't attended uni yet.

and she does have a proper job, in finance so kudos.

Bea and Eugenie seem to be the ones who have their heads screwed on best.

Andrew did the right thing by not at all remarrying and working on the image of his new wife; the girls had a stable rock in him and he always put them first in his personal life, no one else and he never pulled half the stuff that Fergie did (other than hang out with the convicted pervert) and kept much of his life private.

I still cannot understand how Bea can work in finance. I've recently done a course on the topic and it's very difficult.

Excellent point. Perhaps when the fallout from William's divorce occurs the media will compare Charles and Andrew's approach to raising their kids post-divorce.

Andrew didn't have to raise two teens alone after his ex's death and didn't have to raise The Heir and Spare vs two girls that the media rarely cares about  laundry...and since when being caught drunk trying to sell access to your ex husband and being banned from anything Royal is being a good parent?

^  Charles didn't raise two teenagers alone either. He has more helpers than anyone in the royal family does.

Charles spent those years building the Prince's Trust and giving speeches on how to deal with young people and their problems. He should have spent more time on dealing with his own children. William & Harry both have problems brought about from their youth and how they were dealt with.

The reaction from the Windsors on their Mum's death was wrong and those boys have watched their Dad try to rewrite history about their Mum. The Windsors would brush Diana out of their history if it was possible. Those boys had to know that since the public does. It had to have a bad effect on their young minds.

Andrew was and is a better Father than Charles in my opinion.

Someone made a comment which may have been here or elsewhere but it sums everything up perfectly - the Windsors are all related to each other but they are anot a family in the way that any average person would recognise.

They don't even meet up with each other but send memos and notes or communicate via a third party. It's hardly surprising it all goes off the rails generation after generation.

Andrew might have had help, but it's not his fault his ex-wife has proven to be a total failure of a mother. I'm talking about Andrew and while he had nannies, he didn't publicly bash his ex (and I am sure that even if she died he would still be publicly restrained) and he didn't hook up with Koo Stark and start working on her (Koo's) image and make Fergie publicly take insults. Charles meanwhile bashed his dead wife, made his sons meet his mistress, made them make public statements about how 'nice' Camilla was and how mcuh they 'wanted their father to be happy' and it looked like Harry and William started to go off the rails.

It'd would be such a special gift to royal watchers if Beatrice or Eugenie could please announce an engagement sometime soon. Please? With a Spring 2013 wedding? May's a great month to be married!
