Yes that it a black spot indeed.

He has a daughter with a woman named Heidi (that in 2004 participated in a reality program named Robinson but that is a whole other story. It is not as bad as the reality program that Prince Carl Philips girlfriend participated in.)

But he was only 16 years old when he had this daughter. I've read somewhere that his parents insisted that it was not his child and there was made a paternity test.

Apparently Heidi didn't know that she was pregnant before in he 9. month where she gave birth to her daughter. At that point Martin was out of the picture and her new boyfriend welcomed the girl. The daughter did not know about her real father before she turned 11.

I think I spy Princess Benedickte with Princess Anne watching Zara at the equestrian event:

Oh yeah, her daughter is an equestrian in her own right!

Ah!  Found this: http://www.equisearch.com/news/nancy_jaffer/2012-olympic-eventing-dressage-day-two/  (Scroll down a bit or look here)
Quote
She and the prince were on hand to watch her daughter, Zara, compete for Britain on High Kingdom. (And I know you know she is also the daughter of Mark Phillips, the U.S. technical advisor.) They sat with Princess Benedikte of Denmark, whose daughter, Nathalie zu sayn-Wittgenstein, is competing in Grand Prix dressage. I guess royals feel comfy hanging out together.

Thank you! I was wondering about Nathalie. She has already an olympic medal but as she had a kid I thought that maybe she wasn't going to attend.

What a great picture.

Queen M always looks a bit unelegant unless being in full gala. As she says herself all stains get on her while her sister Princess Benedikte never gets one.

Apparently Benediktes husbond Prince Richard has said in 2008 - where he was very ill -that he won't die before his daughter Princess Nathalie wins a gold medal.

Princess Marie tells she has friends with autism in their lives. She also tells there is austism in her nearest family but won't tell who it is.

Picture of P Marie looking very depressed.

So I guess Joachim is acting as Regent and won't be able to go to the Olympics? Explains why they were in France instead of Graasten.

Alexandrine, I agree.

Berlin, how so. Why where they in France and not in Graasten. Gråsten is in Denmark. As far as I can tell there was no officiel reason not to be together with the rest of the family to the traditionel summer photoshoot. First time ever.

I think that Berlin means that they had their vacation before so they could stay in Denmark while the rest are in London.

If the rest of the DRF is going to be at the Olympics for two whole weeks then I don't see why Joachim et al should have had to disrupt their holiday.  I *despise* that whole regency thing.  I hope Joachim can at least see the Closing ceremony, but I don't think he'll be able to.  It's really inconsiderate of the family to require him to miss out on the Olympics.  Is it really his first time missing Graasten?  I recall one summer when Fred, Mary and the kids weren't there (because of traffic blink), but I thought Joachim was absent as well and only Benedickte's kids attended.

I don't recall Frederik and Mary missing a photoshoot.

Well Apparently Joachim agree with you and didn't want to interrupt his holidays to this traditionel annual photoshoot.

I don't understand why Joachim should be at the Olympics. He is not the Crownprince.

woohoo!  It's only fair.

HC, Fred and Mary missed Graasten in 2008 because of "traffic."  Joachim was also absent that year.  You can see the photoshoot here: http://www.royalpress.nl/categories.php?cat_id=149.  I've read on TRF that Joachim has not regularly attended Graasten anyway.

berlin You are right. Frederik and Mary missed a photoshoot due to traffic. It is quite a cardrive from Copenhagen to this outpost of Denmark.

But there is a difference between being late and not to bother coming....

I don't know what tfr is, but I do think it is odd that he and Marie didn't attend or didn't bother to appear just one day.

TRF is theroyalforums.  Someone on there said he didn't attend between 2003-2007.  Perhaps before as well.

Might be because of Joachims maritial situation.

Perhaps the bad marriage and the staus as divorced was the reason why he didn' attend the Gråsten photoshoot?
