Prince Andrew opens ISIC European space center
http://www.examiner.com/british-royal-family-in-national/prince-andrew-opens-isic-european-space-center
Quote
Yesterday, Prince Andrew formally opened ISIC, The International Space Innovation Centre, in Harwell, Oxfordshire. The BBC and others reported that the center provides space for scientists and others to develop the space industry, currently valued at around £7.5 bn. The growing sector is seeing a 15 percent rise in the number of staff it employs.

The Duke of York reportedly said that space offered great opportunities for Britain's scientific community, industry and education.

"This is the start of something which could be extremely large for the United Kingdom, something which we should be justifiably proud to be able to shout about, not just here in the UK but when we travel around the world," he said at his speech.

The Duke is undertaking some visits which were in planning stages when he announced that he was stepping down from the role.  The Royal Visits Committee has agreed that he should honour these commitments."
- he should....PA might not have the best personality what with his questionable friendship and all but he sure knows how to used it to his advantage...I mean he was asked to step down but British govt knows his value and that is, he knows who to deal and talk with to make the deals happen.

Doesn't the UK have a Secretary of State who should be doing this?  Sorry if this is an ignorant question.

I feel sorry for Andrew sometimes...he gets so much stick but at least he does some work, he always looks so alone and sad at family functions.  I used to love him in the 80s and thought he was very dishy  flirt

According to witnesses, he said in his welcoming speech: ‘The message to get across here tonight is that Britain is open for business – unlike one or two other countries I could mention.’
To warm applause, he added: ‘And what is more, we have our own currency!’
- well said and true anyways...guess the DM just doesnt like PA..

     Me Too!

He turned into a typical hanoverian, a tad overweight with a big jaw and a bit of a buffoon.

George III's sons have much in common with Andrew.

Still, being Mummy's Golden Boy, he will continue in his self delusions.... much like Charles... and Edward

Thanks, Akasha.  Andrew pops up on my radar every so often and it's always helpful to get facts and statistics, to me, instead of just impressions.  Lemme ask you, tho, are all of these visits helping?  Is he a good ambassador, iow.  That's not meant in any kind of sarcastic questioning.  He's blasted so much and we don't always get the other side of the story in the good old media.
