By tradition they don't use their new titles until after the funeral.

It was sad to read that he has passed.  My condolences to his family.  I thought he was a very good photographer and IMHO took quite a few iconic pictures of the BRF.

Antony was educated at Cambridge. Architecture was the subject he had chosen for his degree. However he developed an interest in photography.

David, 2nd Earl of Snowdon, as as grandchild of a king through a daughter, is a non-Royal Highness. He has the style and titles related to his noble father Antony, 1st Earl of Snowdon, not his royal mother, Princess Margaret.

David Armstrong-Jones declared that his father believed that he (Antony) was a failure.
How could Antony be a failure when his photographs are superb?

Now I understand why the RF was so dead set against Margaret marrying Pete: he was a preying conniving alleged pedophile. ick

^^ If she had gotten pregnant, she could have stayed hidden and had the child in secret. Or there were doctors willing to do secret abortions before it was legal. Or they could have had a "shotgun wedding" if Margaret was willing to lose her place in the line of succession.

^ When was he going after children? Isn't the age of consent 16 in the UK? Margaret was not a prepubescent child. He was married to someone else with kids already, and too old for her besides, so it was still wrong, but not pedophilia.

In those days, a lot of people viewed 16 as an adult, especially girls. Parents would encourage their daughters to date older men who were established in their careers so they had someone to provide for them and their future children. 16-year-old boys were still in high school and had years ahead of them before they would be ready to marry and start a family.

Townsend wasn't a alleged pedophile, Margaret was 17, not 7. It would have been interesting if she had gotten pregnant what Liz would have done. The old bat (queen mum) would have taken to her bed as always when there was a crisis.
