It is a funny comment, I have ot admit. I just wish that Henrik and the other Prince Consorts weren't so miserable and bitter, just because they married women they knew would be future Queens.

They are only prince consorts because the title of queen is considered in most of the countries as being lower than the king title. If women were not considered inferior Henri would be king. So his comment is not funny, just pathetic.

I feel kind of sad for prince consorts because they wanted the queen wife while still having the "norma" family of their era which was kind of impossible. But really no one made them marry.  bored3

Hi, does anybody know where I can find a video of the wedding? I want to see the bridal procession.

I'm really having trouble streaming the only clip I can find --http://www.dr.dk/bonanza/serie/Tema_royalt_bonanza/bryllup_Margrethe_Henrik.htm . I've been trying for days, but still no luck.

Alexandrine I will give it a try.
But some words are too sweedish. I might add that Marselisborg is one of the estates that the royal family own themselves. The estate was a wedding gift to Queen Ingrid. Besides this estate I think they also own a hunting cabin and the estate in France.

At home with Margrethe
Welcome says QM and open up the doors to her beautiful white castle. It is situated on a hill at Marselisborg ... and it ...with the good adress Royalroad 100 in Århus. It is the Queenherself that shows around from the ...study to the drawing room with ....The rooms have ... proportions and are not difficult to furnish. On top of that they are lovely to stay in. Especially the drawingroom with the great view and ...And I really thrive with the light that ....But enterely practically the house isn't and then it is quite small. The Hall takes up a lot of space so we have nearly not enough room for visitors. The architect has not thought of that. That means that Margrethe almost never has parties at Marselisborg. Here they almost only socialise with family. And Mary, frederik and the children always stay at the cavallier wing when there are visiting.

Looks like a really nice drawing room. Some years ago I saw a tv documentary about Marselisborg. But we only saw some windows where the QM told about some glas decoration put in the windows. The garden is open for the public. I have not seen it though.

Here is some old pictures

Princeconsort Henrik is whining once again. Now to a french mag.

Quote
Prince Henry: I am being treated unfairly. The frenchman complain again that he is not king of Denmark. He has in over 45 years lived in Denmark as a prince and prince consort.
But it's just not enough for Prince Henrik.
Now kicking the 78-year-old Frenchman is again complaining about that he never became king of Denmark.
It happens in an interview in the French magazine Point de Vue, where he and Princess Marie are interviewed about being French in the Danish royal family.
And according to Henry, Marie has it much easier than him.
– You, my dear daughter, have a normal marriage where you and your husband are equel. He is a prince and you are a princess. But that's not in my case.  There is no reason why I should not be at the same level as my wife complains Henrik again about the role as underdog compared to Margaret.
Previously, he muttered that he was not king, when kings wives are queens. And despite his privileged life and its fine title that makes people bowing and scraping, the humiliation is burning in the proud Frenchman.
–  I mean, and I will think this to the day I die, I'm number two. And by the way, I'm not the only one who feel this way.  Prince Philip share the attitude.  It's a reverse discrimination, says Henrik.
And pointing again at the past as an argument that he should be addressed as king.
–  For 5000 years ago queens made their men to kings. The English system was the exception and it was followed by Denmark and the Netherlands.  And I do not know why, he says.
And send the following tirade, which can only be directed against the queen, who ultimately decided that Henry must remain prince consort:
– The injustice is difficult to handle.
It is not only the lack of royal title, which gave Henry a hard time in the sweet life on the polished floors. In an interview for more than ten years ago he cried that the Danes and the court believed that Crown Prince Frederik was number two on the ladder, while he was demoted to third pladsen. At that time he fled to his chateau, where he licked the wounds until the family came down and in the presence of the press calmed him.
Ekstra Bladet has previously revealed that Prince Henrik is so sure that he should be king, that during a trip to Sicily introduced himself as king of Denmark.
There is not much evidence to suggest that Queen Margrethe is free of Henrys unrelenting wishes to become king.
Despite 45 years of rejections of what can only be described as his most burning desire.

I think Princeconsort Henrik is a victim of delusions of grandeur. He has no goodwill in the population. Everytime the danes think that perhaps we should give him credit for his work or his poetry and sculptures, he says something idiotic as children should be slapped, that danish food is not as good as french, french culture and language should be protected from the influence of english or that he ought to be no.2 or he should be king.
