Eugenie's boyfriend has no business moving her boyfriend in and Meg has had no business hanging out there.

^^ Again, this article has misleading headlines and has nothing whatsoever to do with the Cambridges' accommodation at Apartment 1A. The body of the article itself points out that the basement is going to be utilised for Collections and as office accommodation etc for the 100 or more Historic Palaces staff.

This is just stirring the pot clickbait for people who can't be bothered to read the article.

Every other man and woman in the kingdom is allowed to have lovers/boy-girlfriends visit them in their houses, units, flats. Why are members of the BRF to be forbidden?

Either way, stuffing staffers in an underground office is just plain wrong.

It's interesting to see how quickly they dropped the 'normal couple' front. After the wedding there was the Anglesey bolthole, lies about Kate socialising with military wives while William supposedly worked hard in the air ambulance, pictures of her going to the supermarket and the cinema. Then it was 'cosy' Nottingham Cottage at KP, and stories of Kate baking. Now they have the enormous KP apartment, Anmer Hall, the nanny out at the christening in uniform, no socialising with the commoners. Kate is never spotted walking Lupo (what happened to him??) Is it because they got bored of putting on the 'normal couple' act and realised they could get away with it? Either way, it's very sad. The sprogs probably don't have a life outside KP/AH/Midd Manor. They'll probably grow up to be even more spoilt than William.

Much bad press surrounding them over the basement build.  Many commenting about QE wanting money to renovate crumbling Royal residences too yet they can waste money on the basement.

^ It was the Royal Historic Palaces Trust, a registered charity that looks after the maintenance and care of palaces like St James and KP, that made the application to council for this basement work, not any member of the BRF or Royal Household, so if people are complaining they're complaining about the wrong authority.

Do you not think that they are acting on behalf of members of the RF, as a mouthpiece?

yeah this expansion has nothing to do with Kate and Will - it I was requested by Historic Royal Palaces - not K and W - obnoxious DM stirring up unnecessary animosity

Will William and Catherine have any of their furniture from their present residence moved to Kensington Palace?

This is the DM doling out payback for years of lawsuits and threats and pointless drama. As far as I'm concerned, there isn't any reason not to feel animus and frankly the tide is beginning to turn as the press get their balls back (at long last); I was beginning to think the media had been fully neutered.

Security is stepped up at Kensington Palace's public areas amid fears of terror attacks

Security has been stepped up at Kensington Palace amid fears of terror attacks.

Visitors to the west London palace, once home to Princess Diana , must now have their bags checked every time they enter the cafe and gift shop in measures introduced after the UK threat level was briefly raised to critical.

The palace is home to William and Kate and their children as well as Prince Harry .

However, the recent changes concern the public areas of the building where an estimated 400,000 visitors flock every year.
The palace is currently home to the exhibition Diana: Her Fashion Story which is attracting high volumes of visitors as people remember the princess on the 20th anniversary of her death.

It also hosts an exhibition on Queen Victoria and offers the chance to view Royal Collection artwork in The King’s Gallery.

A sign outside the cafe and shop now reads: “Please wait here for mandatory bag searches and security checks.

“Please note that bags will be searched upon every re-entry of the palace cafe.”

A source said the measures were introduced in May after the threat level was briefly raised to critical following the Manchester bombing and remain in place despite the threat level since being loweredhttp://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/kate-middleton-william-terror-palace-10998702

You know, I do think that if they're concerned about terrorists, they should worry about who they are hiring and also pay attention to who the royals are mixing with. As it is, Harry with his Vegas stint (opening his hotel room to all and sundry) and also William and Kate sneaking off all the time, that should be more concern. Less running to foreign countries and more staying in Britain and I am certain they would in fact be better off not mixing with anyone before they're vetted.

Thanks.

I find it intriguing how so many bad types surround the royals and how princes in the UK clearly have no sense of quality or actually SEE the warning signs. Security is only as good as the person who they're protecting; the royals are not doing their part and are not at all taking two seconds to spot warning signs. Diana clearly thought she could spot a user a minute within meeting them and yet she ended up with the Fayeds getting into trouble and then dead. Charles, we've said enough. So now the princes think they can spot a user, but clearly they can't (and won't) see that they formed relationships with bad types of women.

These measures aren't about security for the royals but the ordinary public who visit on a daily basis. This is the same as putting in place bollards etc around BP - it isn't for The Queen but for the general public who congregate there.

Sure a terrorist with an explosive might do same damage to royal apartments but they would be killing the general public.

The RPO's job isn't to vet the people with whom the royals come into contact beyond checking that they do not intend any physical harm to their principal so unless the person with whom they are coming into contact has a weapon the royals are free to associate with anyone they wish.

Any time a royal leaves a royal palace a security team is with them and all places they visit are security checked often many times before a royal goes there - including the local shops etc. That is the job of the RPO's - to ensure their physical safety - not their emotional or financial or to prevent them from making fools of themselves.

^Thing is, with the shady people they hang around, they ARE apparently determined to put themselves at risk. With the Midds, a drug dealing uncle and sex trafficker; Meg, her shadiness and of course, her own likely serious personal issues that are likely simmering, the royals are putting themselves at serious physical risk. Each time Meg enters Harry's apartments, she likely has on her shoulders a huge amount of emotional and psychological baggage that can be set off over anything. Please do not think that for example, someone with Kate's past history of the choices she's made, that she's mentally healthy and emotionally stable; she's clearly on the edge and I do think that she's abusive in her own way (as William is, but that is another discussion) and she had dozens of red flags. I don't think Meg is that healthy either (the industry can do a number on you as it does to anyone) and I do believe she has serious issues of her own. At any point, Meg could go off on Harry and what then? Right now she's going for the ring and won't do anything to blow that, but I am certain that after marriage she will manifest problems of her own.

The BRF have a habit of hanging around people who could lash out and a huge part of staying safe is to take steps to ensure your own safety. W&H clearly are not doing their part to protect themselves and so I do wonder just how well security can protect them if they don't take steps to protect themselves. So really security to me is kind of a joke since the princes clearly prefer to let in the predators right into their own homes.

My personal opinion is that the security is there for the royals, no two ways about that for me.  The royals could not give a flying fig about the general public, not interested in us, as long as they are grabbing taxpayer money to live their lives in luxury they couldn´t give a hoot about us.  Just give us the money, you are not our problem.  They are a cold, greedy, grasping family, always have been, most of the public did not realise, but with the advent of the internet and modern technology their high palace walls are crumbling and we are seeing just how cold and calculating they are.  They totally disgust me, they want to grab everything and take nothing, especially bill medd and haza, grab, grab, grab.  Nah, the security is for them, not for us, is my opinion and I am sticking with it, big time.
