Prince William and Kate Middleton intend to make their wedding a people's event and on April 29 the happy couple may seem close enough for you to reach out and touch them. Broadcasters are considering plans to screen the royal wedding in 3D. If those plans come to fruition it would mean a worldwide audience of millions would watch the anticipated marriage ceremony through 3D glasses.

Perhaps it's best to take these articles with a grain of salt.  But why would the media make such a mockery of this wedding?

I really don't believe this. It's possible they made a private joke and it in turn got leaked and then presented as fact.

Not to mention the incredible tackiness of this fiasco... where are they getting the money to get all of these big screens and 3D technology?

Quotes about Waity/Waste-y Katie:
On Kate's so called career and work ethic; a coworker from Jigsaw when Kate was working said this: "A fellow staff member said: "Kate is a nice enough girl but she was never what you might call committed to the job.She never worked full-time and appeared to take an inordinate amount of time off to go jetting round the world with her boyfriend."

Monaco's royal wedding is going to be in 3D, but they've been tacky for a while, and Charlene and Albert are just very easter-James

The taxpayer of course! There is no way that HM would pay for it. I wonder if HM will be able to slow William down before he creates so many plans that it becomes impossible. As for Monaco, well, that's Monaco. Look at some of the comments on the article, icky. One mentions how viewers will now be able to see all that privilege up close.

This  was only good for a laugh!  I honestly don't think that millions would want to see the Royal Wedding like a Miley Cyrus concert.  The purpose of the article is to give people an excuse to come out and line the streets, and make for a sizable crowd.

Here it is, hilarious as usual, good point Private Eye : at least we can lean on you !  tehe

Their comment on Katie Nicholls (and some others...) is priceless... Read and enjoy :

Quote
FLEET STREET’S CRYSTAL BALLS

PRINCE William’s engagement to Kate “Waity Katie” Middleton is a triumph for the Mail on Sunday’s royal correspondent Katie Nicholl, billed on its front page last weekend as “the writer who REALLY knows William and Kate”. Really? Cynics may wonder if the hackette has even met them…

5 September 2004: “Has the relationship between Prince William and his student girlfriend Kate Middleton run its honeymoon course?” Katie wonders. She fears so: the 22-year-old prince is taking six friends on a sun-drenched holiday in the Indian Ocean but “pretty Kate has been told she must stay behind”.
21 November 2004: “William and Kate are on the rocks,” Katie confirms. They are having a trial separation “after a series of rows about their future together, the Mail on Sunday can reveal”. According to Katie’s sources, “he thinks that they are better suited as friends. The truth is he thinks that when they graduate in the spring, they’ll go their own ways.”

12 December 2004: You think it’s all over; it is now. “I revealed that the 22-year-old Prince and brunette Kate had agreed to a trial separation last month,” Katie writes, “but now William has told her he wants to split up for good.”

9 October 2005: Not so fast! Palace officials, Katie reveals, “are working on the possibility of an engagement announcement next spring to be followed by an autumn wedding. ‘There is a lot of speculation and talk that William and Kate will get engaged next year,’ says my impeccable Royal source…‘October will be pencilled in as a date for the wedding’.”

26 March 2006: Spring is sprung, and Katie is sticking to her story. “When she was photographed with the Prince of Wales this month, it was clear that Kate Middleton had been given the royal seal of approval,” she reports. “Now I can report that a royal engagement could be just weeks away.”

16 April 2006: Kate Middleton has been spotted sitting on a chair at a Sloane Street salon having a pedicure. “The irony of sitting on a throne was not lost on Kate – she could definitely see the funny side of it.” As well she might: Katie reveals that “Kate is preparing for a romantic getaway next month with Prince William when she hopes he will propose.”

23 July 2006: “Despite a four-year courtship by Prince William, it seems Kate Middleton may not metamorphose into a royal bride after all,” Katie now reveals. “Insiders are privately expressing concern that it may not happen… The fear is that history will repeat itself and she could be the next Camilla.”

18 March 2007: Back to plan A. “Speculation of an engagement between Prince William and Kate Middleton mounts steadily.”

15 April 2007: William and Kate have parted for good. “The 24-year-old prince told the girl many thought would be his queen that it was all over in a ‘face-to-face’ meeting last weekend,” Katie reveals. A “highly placed source” explains to her why this should have been expected: “Look, they met at university and they were together for a few years and then drifted apart because of a number of reasons, not least because they are both still young. It happens all the time.”

16 September 2007: “Prince William and Kate Middleton have put any relationship difficulties behind them,” Katie reveals. “While I’m told there is to be no engagement announcement for the foreseeable future, they are very much an item again.”

28 October 2007: Elucidation on what Katie means by the foreseeable future: “William Tells Kate: You’re My Bride, But Not Until 2009.” Because of the prince’s military training commitments, “there probably won’t be a wedding until July 2009”.

29 June 2008: Kate Middleton has turned down an invitation from the Queen to spend Christmas Day with the royal family. “Insiders believe that William, 26, and Kate will announce their engagement next April and marry later in the year, making this the final Christmas Kate will spend as a single woman,” Katie explains. “The couple have therefore agreed that Kate should enjoy the festivities with the rest of the Middleton family before she becomes part of The Firm.”

5 October 2008: Marriage plans are now “on the back burner” because of William’s RAF commitments. “She is said to *despise* the nickname ‘Waity Katie’,” Katie writes, “but Kate Middleton could be waiting a very long time to marry – for up to seven-and-a-half years, to be precise.” Expect a wedding some time in 2016, then.

21 December 2008: Or perhaps not. “Kate Middleton’s mother fears her daughter will never become a member of the royal family, I can reveal.”

23 August 2009: Kate Middleton will leave her parents’ business at the end of the year, Katie reveals, “in time for an engagement announcement with Prince William around Easter”.

15 November 2009: Prince William has yet to propose, but “courtiers have already been briefed to start working on a royal wedding, potentially for 2012. The Mail on Sunday has been told that a wedding is now being openly talked about at Buckingham Palace and early-stage talks are under way to dovetail William and Kate’s wedding with the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.” A “royal insider” confirms to her that “2012 is the date”.

20 June 2010: “Prince William and long-time girlfriend Kate Middleton are busy home-making in Wales,” Katie reveals, “sparking fresh rumours that they will shortly announce their marriage plans.”

7 November 2010: “Friends say they are as good as unofficially engaged,” Katie reports. “Kate is waiting patiently for Prince William to ask his grandmother for permission to make the announcement official.” So when will it happen? Katie’s insiders have no doubt: “The royal family’s annual Christmas sojourn to Sandringham would be the perfect opportunity.” And so it came to pass…

NOT THAT IT WAS ONLY KATIE NICHOLL…
“Perhaps Kate Middleton, William’s companion, will be our future Queen. Infinitely more likely, she will not. For better or for worse, the royal whirlwind will put her down again as suddenly as it has picked her up.” – Patrick Jephson (former private secretary to Princess Diana), Sunday Telegraph, 4 April 2004.

“Stargazer Mystic Meg has been peeking into her crystal ball – and she promises some major surprises in the New Year… England win the World Cup… Prince William gets engaged to Kate Middleton.” – Mystic Meg, News of the World, 1 Jan 2006.

“Prince William is getting engaged to his girlfriend Kate Middleton. Wills, 23, is expected to propose this spring and Kate, 24, has indicated she will accept. A formal announcement will be made by Buckingham Palace shortly afterwards.” – Susie Boniface, Sunday Mirror, 5 February 2006.

“It is clear that Kate will marry Prince William, possibly as soon as next summer.” – Royal expert Christopher Wilson, Daily Mail, 4 November 2006.

“The royal household is buzzing with rumours that Prince William and Kate are to become engaged at Sandringham over Christmas.” – Natalie Clarke and Paul Bracchi, Daily Mail, 9 December 2006.

“Just how imminent is an engagement announcement? February is the traditional month for senior royals to reveal wedding plans…” – Geoffrey Levy and Richard Kay, Daily Mail, 13 January 2007.

“Prince William and his girlfriend Kate Middleton will marry next year, and could be engaged by Christmas. Royal sources close to the Daily Star say… he will get down on one knee and propose to Kate, 27, over the festive season.” – Gary Nicks, Daily Star, 7 December 2009.

“EXCLUSIVE: I can reveal that Miss Kate Middleton has already visited a ‘royal’ jeweller and an engagement is expected shortly with a wedding (to Prince William, I should mention) as early as July.” – William Hickey, Daily Express, 5 February 2010.

“Royal wedding speculation grew yesterday after claims that Buckingham Palace has ‘cleared its diary’ for a June announcement of an engagement between Prince William and Kate Middleton. According to well-connected former editor and author Tina Brown, aides plan to announce on either 3 or 4 June that a wedding will take place in November.” – Daily Mail, 7 April 2010.

“WILLS TO MARRY HIS KATE IN 2012. They’ll wed just before Olympics. ROYAL EXCLUSIVE.” – Robert Jobson, News of the World, 12 September 2010.

“The Daily Mirror broke the news of the engagement just days after William had secretly proposed… Others have made a small industry out of wrongly predicting the nuptials – we chose to get our facts right. Their formal engagement will be announced early in 2011.” – Richard Smith, Daily Mirror (“1st with royal exclusives”), 19 October 2010.

The Japanese are geniuses when ti comes to humor. I still remember the anime scenario of when Tiger got caught cheating and it showed a by-play of when Elin slapped him and he crashed, wiht her coming at Tiger with a golf club.
