I think she was there for thirty minutes? Since the royal reporters said she was there since she said happy christmas it was more or less half an hour?

Why bother go if she stayed only for 30 minutes.  :bored: I like this outfit except the dress is way too tight. Her hair’s neatly pulled back though.

I think Meghan has worn that coat before. The patterned dress is nice though a bit snug, but then, when I was pregnant we wore tents!

Is Meghan further along than we think? Fans go into meltdown over the Duchess's VERY prominent baby bump - as the royal tells care home residents 'I'm very pregnant today'
* Meghan, 37, displayed blossoming bump in a £834 dress by Brock Collection
* Fans quickly speculated she was more pregnant than previously thought
* Kensington Palace announced she and Harry are expecting first child in Spring
Meanwhile, Meghan herself commented that she was 'very pregnant today' as she spoke to care home residents during her visit.
When asked about her pregnancy today, the Duchess told a care home resident she was 'very well', adding: 'I'm very pregnant today'.
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6507633/Fans-meltdown-Meghan-Markles-prominent-baby-bump.html

'That I understand': Former TV star Meghan offers a sympathetic response to a retired actress after she says 'she had a career instead of kids' during the duchess' visit to the Royal Variety nursing home
* Meghan, 37, asked resident at nursing home 'Did you have kids?' during visit
* The resident told the Duchess of Sussex 'No I didn't, I had a career' in response
* Meghan also spoke about her pregnancy, saying 'I'm very pregnant today'
The pregnant duchess, 37, asked retired actress Josephine Gordon 'Did you have kids?' during her visit to the Royal Variety nursing home in Twickenham.
She replied 'No I didn't, I had a career', to which Meghan, who is expecting her first child in the Spring, responded 'Yes, that I understand'.
When asked how she was doing, she replied 'Very good', before adding 'I'm very pregnant today.'

^The visit isn't about you, Sparkles.  QE2 does have a wicked sense of humor sending her to retired show biz folks home, tho.

This is interesting. Comments aren’t being allowed.  :cookie:
Meghan `feeling very pregnant´ on visit to retired performers´ nursing home
The former actress appeared to have an affinity with the elderly performers – including former TV sitcom star Richard O’Sullivan – and sang carols with residents, helped create a Christmas collage and even chatted to one in fluent Spanish.
Ms Serrano, originally from Madrid, said Meghan spoke to her in fluent Spanish without an accent. She added: “She was telling me about her life and her acting, she was talking about everything. She said she started doing a job she enjoyed then she met Harry.”
Actor Richard O’Sullivan – known for his roles in the sitcom Man About the House and the spin-off sitcom Robin’s Nest – was in the home’s bar, drinking a cup of tea, when the duchess was invited in, and when she asked: “Do you miss acting?” he replied: “No”.
The duchess also joined in a Christmas craft workshop where residents were creating a collage of paper baubles around a picture of Brinsworth House.
On her bauble, Meghan wrote “Merry Christmas Love Meghan” in decorative writing.
He added Meghan had mentioned a care home for actors in Los Angeles which she had visited many times and said Brinsworth House reminded her of the US institution.

Weird as the article seems to have been removed from the main site.  :dontknow:

Sad to see Richard O’Sullivan at the home. He was very charismatic and naughty during his younger days as he played the womanizer quite well in Man about the House.

At such an advanced stage of pregnancy, to have absolutely no puffiness at the ankles which -- by the way -- happen to be clomping happily along in very tall stiletto heels. . . . she cannot be a mere mortal -- she must be a fairy princess!!!     :queeny: :stars:

^^Neither did Kate have swollen ankles/feet. These are extremely thin women who I guess don't experience swollen ankles/feet like Kim Kardashian did.  :dontknow: I doubt Victoria Beckham had swollen ankles/feet either.

wtf?!?!?!  :ick:

Oh, this woman is ridiculous to wear a dress not designed for maternity. Where is that black maternity dress she wore when arriving in New Zealand? So...barely showing = maternity dress, now showing = tight dresses?  :-  :-  :-

^ Kate noticeably gained weight all over during her last pregnancy.   You can see it in face and arms here:

Mad Megs has no extra weight anywhere.

^Thanks for the pics, I still don't see the ankle/feet swelling in Kate, but her face did get puffy.

Perhaps Meg wants to convince us that she is gaining weight by wearing a dress so tight that her skin is hanging over the dress, thus she is getting fat, you never know with this woman.  :sly:

^ Richard’s still the the cheeky comedian.  When she asked him if he misses acting her basically said “no”. It seems he had no interest in this talentless broad and didn’t bother to hid it.

She looks like a sausage in that dress.

Sorry, but this dress is horrible. Nothing to do with my inherent dislike of this woman. It's just objectively horrible.
Too revealing and summary for the season, skin hanging out, meat bits showing through the dress even though she is an actual skeleton.
The hem also does no favor to her stick thin, 100% shapeless legs.

How did they manage?

Unfortunately, with her posture and body type, few outfits ever work out well.

^ For goodness' sake, she's made a tic out of cradling and touching her belly.

This is so tacky, in poor taste and disgusting.
Someone really needs to work with her to curb some of that belly petting. Urgh.

I disagree - it  comforts the baby and establishes contact.  It also reassures baby. It is natural for a mother to be to do this, although I don't recall one single photo of Kate
ever doing so.

Title: Re: Royal Variety Charity December 18

^ I disagree back. Strongly.

All the time? Obsessively?

Only a couple of decades ago, pregnant women would not have been caught dead obsessively petting their bellies in public to supposedly establish "loving contact with the baby".
Is there empirical evidence that petting the belly continuously is actually felt by the baby as "love" and brings the baby measurable benefits?
If it was, practitioners would have started to incorporate advice for pregnant women to do so incessantly during pregnancy, and to not abstain from it even in public. Lord forbid should the baby miss a minute of "maternal love".

Motherly love that actually benefits a child doesn't come in the form of mother-petting-belly when pregnant.
The reason why it has become a fashion to do so over the past decade or so is because women have been told they are now important by default and by mere virtue of reproducing (they are not); so now it is cool to flaunt your bracelet-pregnancy.
"Look at me, world, I'm having a baby, therefore I deserve attention".
It's narcissism and attention-getting behavior at its most disgusting. Even more so in a world of soon-to-reach 10 billions.

By this theory, all humans who came into the world prior to the belly-petting era, would be mentally broken individuals, devoid of primal maternal affection.

Inside the Old Pro's Paradise: The nursing home that Meghan visited cares for a whole host of ex-entertainers including the likes of 70's heartthrob Richard O'Sullivan who met the Duchess today
The 74-year-old actor had been enjoying a cup of tea in the resident bar when pregnant Meghan popped in to say hello.
The veteran actor could be seen springing to his feet to greet her royal highness on Tuesday.
The BBC reported back in 2007 that staying at Brinsworth costs £600 per week for a residential room and £750 for nursing care, revealing that the house costs £1.25m annually to run.

So far, all I'm getting is this a dumb "engagement".

Title: Re: Royal Variety Charity December 18

^ Do they also do "non-dumb" engagements?

What do they do differently when they are engaged in "non-dumb" engagements?
They make a better entrance and smile better at whoever they're visiting?

I guess "NOT constantly rubbing one's pregnant belly" could qualify as an improvement.

Okay the dress was cute but way too tight for murks as usual she does fashion mishpas. And she does look fat now so I think she is pregnant. Her face in pics now look weird with a very put on face whether smiling or just looking. She is so vulgar.

What is it with the broad that she can't dress properly?! She's not a child of 5. That dress she squeezed into today would have been good while she was on 'tour'.

Actually she is just what I said, vulgar and she likes it. Some people do like being vulgar as I have seen in certain groups moving to Los Angeles. We had to pass local laws to stop them ruining neighborhoods with their vulgar homes, very ostentatious and ruining the neighborhood look. So some cultures have those tastes and she happens to be like them which doesn't fit in with where they replant themselves. But Harry obviously likes this vulgarity.

I'm just still flummoxed with the spring print of the odious dress and a practically open back.  In December?  A week from Christmas?  How does this add up at all?

Sometimes (not that it's work either way) but even when the engagement is serious, they find some way to act dumb instead.

Late to the party, but what a godawful dress. It was freezing in the UK and she wore a too-tight spring dress? Surely that bodycon style can't be good for the baby either? Dreadful tacky attention seeker parading her meal ticket at any opportunity.
