Title: WellChild September 4th
Post by: Fly on the wall on August 20, 2018, 06:49:55 pm

Rebecca English

Ah, one of my favourite events: the Duke & Duchess of Sussex will attend the annual @WellChild Awards on Sept 4. It highlights the courage of seriously ill children and their families & those who care for them. I defy Meghan not to cry. I always do. These children are incredible.

My money is on her robot smiling during the whole thing like she usually does.

^yep, the usual complete with her not getting to near the kids so they don’t touch her.
I’m truly at a loss of why she’s in this position because she’ll bring nothing but negative comments and coverage. This is one event where Harry does shine, but if she’s there, he won’t.

Harry won't be able to move without MEggles hanging onto him like a slug.

If she cries they will be dredged up crocodile tears.  She was a *cough cough* wooden top actress, she might be able to manage a couple of tears  -  although it might upset her make up, can´t have that, needs it for the merching effect.  As for well children, she doesn´t care about them so why let her attend, no point.  Hope one of them pulls her wig or extensions, that would be so funny.  Karma can be a real b*tch at times, hopefully working overtime that evening, what a hoot.  lol

^ Yes, my lunch money are on fake tears and bad acting. Problem is - she was already around kids two times and the first time she cringed when they came close to hug her, the second time she would have slapped the kid for touching her if it wasn't for the cameras. What will she do around those kids I can only dread. She will try to pull a Diana copy but .. she h8ts kids.

I think it’ll be a sad and disappointing day for the kids and their loved ones if Meghan attendeds because Harry needs to be on his best form because the kids look forward to meeting him and usually feel relaxed around him. He can’t be himself if she’s in attendance because, like others stated, she’ll be clinging onto him all throughout the event and if she’s separated from him, she’ll show how much she’s uncomfortable around kids, especially special needs kids like these will be. KP might just be releasing Harry upcoming events and she’s just an afterthought plus one. She didn’t attend an event announced by KP involving Harry visiting disabled veterans, so hopefully for this event, she won’t attend either.

As much as I’d rather she not attend this award, I know she’ll show her uncomfortableness around these kids and will dress inappropriately as she usually does during engagements. I hope though that the kids will have a good time as they’ll meet Harry who I hope will best his best for these brave kids.  I think anything she does to try and put the focus on her will get slammed in the press, so for this one time, I just want her to behave like an adult  :tehe: as hard as it’ll be for her, and let Harry and the kids have their time together and the press can focus on that.

^I don’t think so as that looks like pictures from the Hamilton event. The draw for the kids will always be Harry. I remember past events where one of the kids used all his might to stand up to meet and hug Harry.    You can tell the kids look foreword to meeting him.

I like this outfit.

Waity's footsteps: Black for a kids' event... Which is not only terrible when with kids, but also against protocol (supposedly, and if that rule still exists then tbh I think it should be axed, black hasn't been just a mourning colour for the longest time... which is why black when not in mourning is a no-no acc to protocol, as it's "exclusively" for mourning for them).

I think it would've looked much better in a navy blue hue :dontknow:

OMG, she went to Canada for a new nose and that's why the pics were forbidden. Bad rhinoplasty.  lol

^ Black is the only color that looks good on her and I'm ok with that. The only problem is that she's meeting kids that may not survive one more year, yet she dresses like the death and her facial expressions confirm it: https://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/newpix/2018/09/04/17/4FB1966300000578-6129189-image-a-44_1536078626654.jpg

These aren't Meghan's first events though. She went to 14 or more during the months of her engagement. At the first ones photographers journos were knocking people over to get near.

I always think Harry shines at these events. He's empathetic but cheery as well. He puts people at ease. Young Matilda Booth presented Meghan with a bouquet and got a rose back from her. Matilda had seen the Royal wedding apparently and was nervous but her mother said Harry and Meghan put them at their ease, which is good. Lots of photos and interaction.

On a quick glance, her mistake is wearing black to see these remarkable kids, other than that, she didn’t seem to make any mistakes other than walking in front of Harry.
This is one of my favorite moments from these awards. This was pre Megit.

Her hair’s a mess and I’m fed up with her obsession with black, black, blech.  It’s not appropriate for everything and really not when around children who require cheering up.  She just likes to look “sleek” and doesn’t seem to focus on the event’s Mission.  So bored with her, really.  Tiresome ambitious woman with no poise.

^She should know protocol by now.  No excuses.

navy blue or grey could be an alternative to black.

Maybe she’s playing the race card with her choice of wearing black. I think she’s that twisted in her mind.
It seems the kids gravitate to Harry anyway, so that’s good. She’s just his shameful plus one at these engagements now.

I don't understand why she's wearing black to visit a hospital full of terminally ill children. Usually you wear bright colours, or generally anything that's not black. And it's also really formal looking. Just weird.

There’s a dinner after the awards are presented. She must think that she’s attending the dinner. I believe that Harry only stays until after he presents the awards.

and this year I am especially grateful to be able to share the scope and magnitude of this work with my wife, who joins me here this evening.
Maybe I'm being picky, but a man usually names his wife in a speech no? It just seems impersonal which I don't mind given the circumstances.
They only stayed for 45 minutes according to someone on Skippy's blog.

I like to read people's speeches but with this one - not interested. Insincere stuff through and through. Whether he named her or no is irrelevant. Besides US was busy with long weekend with a Nike scandal that ended in yet another book and a judicial hearing controversies. A sloppily glued wig, yet another black outfit, messy hair and fake expressions is not even in the top 100 of topics that are interesting. Again, even less interesting than M's creepy show of black in front of terminally ill kids is an insincere speech written by someone else on H's behalf.

‘They were fantastic’: Disabled showjumper, 16, who bonded with Harry and Meghan at WellChild awards ceremony reveals the royal couple ‘had so much time for everyone’
A 16-year-old show jumper with spina bifida who impressed Harry and Meghan and last night's Wellchild awards has opened up about her meeting with the 'fantastic' royals.
Appearing on ITV's lunchtime news programme, she told presenter Alastair Stewart: 'I think it's fantastic that they're the younger royals and they're involved, and of course it gets a lot more press involved and a lot more attention around it.
'But it was also wonderful because we got to meet them and they had so much time for everyone. They went and spoke to every single one of the award winners, so it was fantastic to do that.'
The young athlete added that the pair had taken an interest in the children's book she's written about disability.
'Meghan had a really good flick through because she sat really close to me and they seemed really interested by it, and they did take it with them, so that's always a good sign,' she explained.
'It was incredible, the atmosphere in the room was so fantastic and all the award winners felt really special.'
Evie, whose motto is 'find a way, not an excuse', spends her time mentoring other children with disabilities and healthy issues and takes her children's book into schools to give talks about hidden disabilities.
Gesturing to the Duchess, watching him from her seat around a table, he said he was 'especially grateful to be able to share the scope and magnitude of this work with my wife who joins me here this evening'.  :-X :bored: ???

What a beautiful, poised caring young lady.
I read that they only stayed for 45 minutes though, so they couldn’t spent that much time with the winners and give out the awards. He might’ve stayed longer if Meghan wasn’t around.

I have to say I prefer William and anyone else's use of their spouse's actual name and not my wife in formal speech and settings. I've nothing inherently against my wife/my husband but when people actually know and is familiar with who your wife is, just say her name.

Meghan Markle has revealed the one thing her & Prince Harry don’t like about being royal

MEGHAN MARKLE is adapting to royal life seamlessly, graciously appearing at public events all over the country and impeccably representing the Royal Family. But Meghan just revealed the one thing she doesn’t like about being royal.

Meghan Markle, 37, seems to be perfect for royal life, having her fair share of fame and publicity even before marrying Prince Harry.

She has slotted seamlessly into a life of glamorous events, global travelling, glittering jewellery and one of the most enviable wardrobes in the world.

However, it seems there is one thing that Meghan isn’t quite liking about her new like as the Duchess of Sussex.

At the WellChild awards last night, Meghan let slip that she doesn’t like the cameras being around her.
Meghan and Harry spent the night talking to recipients of the awards, including four-year-old Mckenzie Brackley.

The little boy, who won an Inspirational Child award for strength following his battle with acute flaccid paralysis, told the Duke and Duchess that he didn’t like the cameras being around.

Meghan and Harry, who are used to being surrounded by cameras, then told Mckenzie that they completely agreed.

Maybe Harry was afraid she’d run out of the venue so he did this weird thing.   :dontknow: He also had his hand on the back of her chair whilst they were talking to Evie and her brother. How’s this woman supposed to cope if she goes to the IG and is surrounded by all of those disabled vets who’ll have their stumps and other injuries on display. This might be Harry showing how uncomfortable she is around disabled kids and would need constant calming from him at all times. She couldn’t hide at how uncomfortable she was and the story about the cameras was an exuse to try to explain her stiffness at the event.

And what about when she is looking around for the cameras to play up to, that is so obvious.  In most of the photos of her she is looking directly into the camera.  Lies, lies and more lies.  That vile, odious apology for a female must be one of the biggest liars in the world.  She has spun so many lies it has become totally 500% impossible to believe a word she says or writes.  The rf will rue the day they let her in, nothing but lies and scandal even before that disastrous wedding debacle.

Harry can't keep his hands off! Unseen footage captures the loved-up prince stroking Meghan's back in touching stolen moment at the WellChild Awards
The Duke of Sussex, 33, was filmed tenderly rubbing his wife's back as they attended the WellChild Awards in London on Tuesday night.
Footage of the touching moment, which emerged online yesterday, shows Harry stroking Meghan reassuringly as they spoke to one of the inspirational young winners at the charity event.
Royal fans gushed over the display after a clip was shared on Instagram fan account Meghan Harry News, with many praising the 'special' couple.  :tehe:

When Harry met Matilda: Heartwarming moment prince swore a 'pinky promise' with inspirational girl, seven, suffering from spina bifida
The caring royal met irrepressible Matilda Booth, seven, who has Spina Bifida, at the WellChild awards for seriously ill children earlier this week and won her heart as they linked little fingers, with Harry making her promise she would 'never stop smiling'.
'Never stop smiling because you have a beautiful smile,' he said, prompting the youngster from Sowerby Bridge, West Yorkshire, to beam from ear to ear.
Although the moment was reported on across the globe, no one had seen it until now. The footage has been passed on by Matilda's grateful family to Mail Online.
'We have started writing a letter to the couple to say thank you. Matilda is dictating it and I am writing it as my daughter cannot write. She has referred to Prince Harry and Meghan as her "New Royal friends" and says she is sad she will never see them again but will always remember the pinky promise she made with Prince Harry and when she is feeling poorly or in hospital she will always remember to carry on smiling.
'She makes me laugh as she now wants to meet the Queen and her dogs!'
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6142925/Heartwarming-moment-Prince-Harry-swore-pinky-promise-girl-7-suffering-spina-bifida.html
I think that she should get to meet the queen and her corgis. I know that Harry’s kept in touch with kids from past award shows, so I hope that he does with this one.
Harry was most likely rubbing her back to keep her from openyher mouth and interrupting like she usually does. He could also be showing her discomfort as well as that he’s in control now. Remember that she used to do that to him in the beginning? Now she looks uncomfortable and less smug.
