Safe to say Murky Turkey won't be godmother.

Didn't the say, when George was being baptised, that they didn't believe in making uncles and aunts as godparents as the excuse for not having Harry or Pippa as George's godparents.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Meghan as Louis' godmother - or the godmother of Zara's new baby - as further signs of how the BRF have included her in their family now. It is more likely to be Zara's little girl as she will be Louis' aunt by marriage but maybe they will still have her anyway and only exclude aunts/uncles by marriage.

If either family have murky turkey as a godparent then they need committing to an asylum IMO.

Why Meghan Markle Won’t Be Godmother to Prince Louis — and the Surprising Odds-On Favorites
Meghan Markle has been listed as an underdog in the godparent stakes by bookmakers surrounding the upcoming christening of two-month-old Prince Louis.
The new royal aunt figures down the list at 14/1 odds, far behind staffers and close friends of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
On Wednesday, the couple announced the July 9 date for the christening. Louis’ godparents will be announced that day.
Prince Harry, 33, is not a godparent to either of his brother’s two older children — 4-year-old Prince George and 3-year-old Princess Charlotte. It’s thought that William and Kate wanted to honor some of their closest friends, rather than choosing someone who was already a proud uncle for the two royals.
Jessica Bridge, of British bookmakers Ladbrokes, said in a statement, “As with George and Charlotte, [William and Kate] chose close and trusted friends and aides, rather than immediate family members, and the odds suggest that will be the same with little Prince Louis.”

^Since Meggles seems to have adopted blushes and beiges to coincide with her Saint Duchess of the Brown Folks persona, it will be interesting to see who's cream-colored outfit will win at the christening.

I have a feeling they all will decide the color scheme (my guess would be some shade of blue) but 'forget' to give Murky the memo.

Prince Harry spends £8,000 on first edition Winnie The Pooh as a gift for nephew Louis' christening today

Uncle Prince Harry bought £8,000 first edition book for nephew's christening
It is thought the newlywed is building personal library for his niece and nephew
Prince Louis will be baptised today in a private ceremony at St James's Palace

[...]

The flame-haired royal has splashed out £8,000 on a 1926 first edition version of the A.A. Milne book - of which 30,000 were printed in the first run, The Sun reports.

He is understood to have made the purchase from rare book seller Peter Harrington in Kensington, London.

A friend told the newspaper: 'One of Harry's happiest childhood memories was being read a bedtime story by his mother.

'She loved all the classics and Harry had the brilliant idea of starting a little library of first editions.'

It is thought the newlywed originally considered buying Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass, priced at £24,000 but decided Winnie the Pooh would be more suitable.

The same friend told The Sun Prince Harry was a big fan of books as a youngster, devouring anything A.A. Milne but his favourite was Robinson Crusoe.

Btw guy pelly..... ehm

Title: Re: Prince Louis' Christening ~ 9th July
Post by: HRHOlya on July 09, 2018, 11:45:38 am
^ I thought exactly the same. Pelly isn't a great choice and choosing Sophie twice shows that Kate really doesn't have any friends. Sophie has been to an Xmas walk or two, at K's Cirque du Soleil bday outing... and stuff lol Their choices are partly self-serving anyway, their choice for Hugh for G was only motivated to secure one more Grosv generation to mooch off of. I am surprised greatly to see that no Percy has been chosen as Godparent for any of the 3 sprogs.

On Lucy by the dm
"LUCY MIDDLETON

Bristol graduate Lucy, 32, is the Duchess of Cambridge's cousin and works as a solicitor in London specialising in media litigation for Atkins Thomson.

She is said to be  close to the Duchess, and the pair spent their gap year together in Florence.

Lucy was studying Italian and [asked] Catherine to join her."

Correction

Seems it's not going to be Sophie Carter for a 2nd time, but Hannah Carter

"HANNAH CARTER (MRS ROBERT CARTER)

Hannah and Kate attended Marlborough College together, where they played on several of the same sports teams.

Kate's sister Pippa was a couple of years below Kate at the same school and also played sports. "

I *despise* *despise* *despise* in this day and age to still use the archaic "Mrs [husband's name] Surname", like a woman has no identity of herself and is a mere extension of her husband.

The following guests will today attend the christening of Prince Louis at The Chapel Royal, St James’s Palace:

-    The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall
-    The Duke and Duchess of Sussex
-    Mr. and Mrs. Michael Middleton, Mr. and Mrs. James Matthews, and Mr. James Middleton
-    The godparents of Prince Louis and their spouses

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have asked the following people to be godparents to Prince Louis, all of whom are friends or family of Their Royal Highnesses:

-    Mr. Nicholas van Cutsem
-    Mr. Guy Pelly
-    Mr. Harry Aubrey-Fletcher
-    The Lady Laura Meade
-    Mrs. Robert Carter
-    Miss Lucy Middleton

Prince Louis will wear the handmade replica of the Royal Christening Robe, made by Angela Kelly, Dressmaker to The Queen.

The Lily Font and water from the River Jordan will be used during the baptism.

Following the service, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will give a private tea at Clarence House. Guests will be served slices of christening cake, which is a tier taken from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding cake.

The Royal Christening Robe
The Royal Christening Robe, of fine Honiton lace lined with white satin, was made in 1841 for the christening of Queen Victoria's eldest daughter, Victoria, Princess Royal.

The original gown was subsequently worn for all Royal christenings, including The Queen, her children and her grandchildren, until the youngest of The Queen's eight grandchildren, James, Viscount Severn.

^ They are sisters-in-law, Sophie's brother is Hannah's husband

"Sophie Carter, a long-term friend of the Duchess of Cambridge, has been rewarded for her loyalty and discretion over the years.

An unfamiliar name to all but the most die-hard royal watchers, she is a virtual ever-present at parties and social gatherings organised by the Duchess, including her birthday parties.

An ex-girlfriend of Thomas van Straubenzee, she is a tennis partner of the Duchess, having met her through mutual friends. Her family are wealthy Norfolk landowners, meaning she will be able to drop in on the Cambridges at Anmer Hall whenever she is visiting her parents.

Her brother Robert is married to another of the Duchess's friends, Hannah Gillingham. "

I wondered the same thing, how small will Christenings be for Harry's possible kids? I do like that they are having smaller Christenings and not overblown money wasting monstrosities, but this is ridiculously and oddly small. Just the grandparents, aunts & uncles, godparents, and that's it :-

Harry has spent an watering £8,000 on a rare first edition Winnie the Pooh book
The newlywed, who married American actress Meghan Markle in a lavish ceremony in Windsor six weeks ago, coughed up a small fortune for the child’s book believed to be the beginning of a small library Prince Harry is making for him.

Prince Harry made the extravagant purchase through rare book seller Peter Harrington in Kensington, London, after being inspired by his mother, Princess Diana.

Members of the Royal Family arrive at St James's Palace for the christening of Prince Louis.
https://twitter.com/KensingtonRoyal/status/1016340563623333888?s=19

Kate looks the same all 3 Christenings.

Pippa's dress is kinda ok, but the cut could be better (esp the pleats at the boobs always look awful, stuff like that).
Scarole can't say, just saw the vid, but the boobs looked like they are at different heights and that front bit at the stomach I'm not too sure about.
Lucy's dress' pattern is awful and the dress too tight and looser hair might've been better. The hat looks very similar to one K wore, at one of her sprogs' Christenings? I bet it's the same milliner.

Murky's dress' colour is awful but I barely saw it. All high labels, none UK. Must be beneath her. Tone deaf that one. She fits right in, tone deafness is par for the course with the Winds.

Kate arrives for christening holding a sleeping Prince Louis in her arms as she is joined by William, George, Charlotte and fellow royals (but Queen and Prince Philip miss occasion)

The Queen and Duke of Edinburgh will not attend Prince Louis 's christening

It's a hat trick for McQueen! Kate repeats the look she chose for George and Charlotte's christenings in at dress by her favourite designer - teamed with a VERY eye-catching headpiece

Duchess wore white ruffled McQueen coat dress to George's christening in 2013
Opted for a similar design in buttercup yellow for Charlotte's in 2015
Recycled the outfit for Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's wedding in May

The ruffles are awful imo, on the blue dress at trooping they looked nice, here not so. A necklace would've been nice

Cute baby, looks like he’ll be brunette, and maybe the same dark brown eyes.  :baby:

Strange, i thought that too but thought it was just me.  Looks very little like the sprog at the blind dorks wedding in May.  Very odd.  She looks a mean little devil yesterday  -  that would be inherited from council caro no doubt.

The ties look very similar on most of the men - as though there was an instruction where to shop and what to wear.

The women, aside from MM had pastel colours. MM didn't get the brief.

I wish there was a warning with some of the photos as the expressions on KM's face and the neck were scary. Sun damage to the neck makes her look a lot older than in her 30's.

It also looks like there was no concern for the christening gown as it was nearly dragging on the ground in some photos.

Waity did not wear pastel colors and Camilla as in many of appearances wore a white gown.

MM's dress was acceptable as far as I'm concerned.

Waity goes in for mugging.

^^  I didn't like that thing on her head either.  It makes her look too much like a bride, as someone else stated.  Never understood why she wears white to the christenings.
Ma Midd and Pippa don't look too great either.
It looks like Charlotte's hair is parted in the middle.  Maybe that's why she looks different.

I think Kate looks quite nice and I don’t mind the hat compared to the last christenings.  I admit to loving old fashioned styled clothing at times.

As for Charlotte, she’s just a little girl, so there’s little point in looking upon her as I would an adult.

MeAgain?  Oh My GOodness  :tehe: :tehe:  she looks like she belongs in a 16th century monastery as a monk.  Absolutely a train wreck.

Louis looks sweet.

^ I also like olden style clothing and don't object to all K wears.

Given that the other two Christenings she dressed in pastel yellow (in the sphere of white), I was expecting that colour scheme again and am not too fussed about it, given the other two it makes for a nice "trilogy" or continuance.

I'm split on Murky's outfit, I don't *despise* it, but I also don't like it. The suede is ridiculous though and leather gloves... ffs.

I don't see why the mother can't or shouldn't wear white (K wore in the past pastel yellow (G) and white (C)), if we want to go by the olden rules (perhaps even the Bible?) then a mother can't attend her child's Christening at all and the child should be christened soon after birth.

Poor old pa (fled the sunken ship) Medd's rather botched face lift very evident.   His eyes always look as if acid had been thrown round the edges.  Nowhere was this more obvious than when he was looking at the ceiling at Haz's nuptials.  A very gloomy looking Christening group except for old Ma Medds who will try and keep up appearances til the last.  They know their days are numbered.

Kate's look of love: Duchess of Cambridge cradles little Louis in intimate portrait as Royal Family release four photos from prince's christening

The Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Louis featured in four intimate snaps released by Kensington Palace
The christening of 12-week-old Louis happened over the weekend at Chapel Royal St James's Palace, London
Kate could be seen beaming as she gazed at the young prince in a photo in the gardens of Clarence House
Pictures showed the family including Meghan and Harry in a unique royal portrait taken after the ceremony

And why are never pics of the godparents (with them) released?

How annoying she can’t just stand next to Harry without having her hand in him. I hope that their are less formal pictures without MM in them that they’ll send to those in attendance.
Wills must be over it and that’s why he’s not too keen on the kid. Perhaps the members only section subject’s the reason for it.

She did the same with George... incredible but with Charlotte was different, she tried but Charlotte was a different type of baby I believe that she will have a special bond with the boys, William I think is close to his girl, I think history is going to repeat again!! As for Kate, other thing that she loves Louis... well for the first time she has a baby that is quiet and peaceful unlike George and Charlotte. And she can leave him alone for that and because she trust Maria.

Camilla is off brand and always will be. It is atrocious that she is shown with Diana's grandchildren and posing with those children and Diana must be spinning in her grave.

Meghan will always look better than Camilla as far as I'm concerned. I think Kate is the one hamming it up with that awful hat and the "Madonna" poses. And the sugars on the DM comments buzzing around about how "perfect" and "stunning" Kate is to me is positively nauseating.

Kate's white gown and that awful hat seemed very affected.

In a few years she'll be scolding Louis like she scolded George at the wedding. She can be quite fearsome.

he looks like kate as a baby - george and charlotte also did

I like how George is smiling. He's super sweet and comfortable with the camera. Camila is on brand with the color scheme of the christening. Meghan is the off brand one and  what's up with the prom poses. We get it, her sugars are teenagers but still... lack of decorum should end up in airbrushed out.

I am entitled to my opinion dianab just as much as you are.

I see things differently than you do. And nothing wrong with that.

You accuse me of what you appear to be doing regarding my posts.

You don't agree. Fine. But no need for the lecture. I don't like Camilla. And I find her worse than Meghan. Kate seems to be over hyped by the sugars on the DM threads.

There was a discussion about Kate's scolding George at the Pippa wedding on this very discussion board. So I brought it up again

I’m locking this thread.  The event is over and I don’t like how this conversation is going.  If anyone has a legit christening article to post, message me.  YM
