I know they're working the Garden Party, but what is their first official royal engagement after the wedding?

Meghan's sunday plans -

wash hair.
go for breakfast somewhere
yoga! Mom's here!
Get to know Amal Clooney and play the humanitarian.

Harry's plan:
having family members read him the riot act.
picking up trash around Windsor Castle
Regaining what's remaining of his popularity.

The Garden Party with C and C is Harry/Meghan's first official engagement, in that it will be noted in the CC and they will be named. No doubt they will have some more pencilled in but not announced yet.

The British Monarchy website has 'no future engagements' listed for either the Duke or Duchess of Sussex over the next six weeks or so but ... the Wales branch of the family frequently do not list upcoming events there.

Charles is trying to get his and Camilla's up on his website but to find out about the Cambridges and Sussexes we have to rely on tweets from KP as a rule - sadly.

I do wish the BRF would get organised and insist that all royal public engagements that are to be recorded for posterity in the CC have to first of all be noted in the FE page of the main website, unless there are security reasons e.g. visits to Northern Ireland are rarely listed prior to the engagements for security concerns.

Honeymoon on hold: Meghan and Harry will delay their romantic holiday to attend engagement on Tuesday with Prince Charles
Quote
But the couple plan to really showcase their work as a new royal ‘power couple’ later in the year, starting with a visit to Australia, where Harry’s inspirational Invictus Games for injured servicemen and women is being held in Sydney this October.

Lots of said plans but still nothing concrete and in the official schedule. If any of these are true, they'll be out of the UK for quite a bit. Out of sight out of mind. The focus will no be placed on Wills and Waity as the future so they'll have to step up big time and actually be seen working and being relevant as this event has made people more ticked off and distrust the monarchy. It'll take some major doings by the royal family to have faith in them restored. I'd say long live the queen because it all goes belly up when she passes.

She'll have to be careful to not be too much out of the UK, as she can only be absent for a set amount of time, esp in the last 2 years before citizenship application. It's around 3 months per year max. :cookie:

Her Majesty’s new right hand woman! Newlywed Meghan will accompany the Queen on a whirlwind day of engagements in Chester next week – in her first royal outing WITHOUT Harry
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-5803781/Meghan-conduct-joint-engagement-Queen-Chester-week.html#comments-5803781
Comments aren’t good as people expect her to be lost without Harry as she’s used to clinging onto him and pushing forward as she’s the boss.
I *despise* the fact that Harry essentially brought into his family someone of her ilk; a user of people, a serial cheater (Corey timeline and rumors of her affair with her Suits co-star, her dumping Trevor shortly after getting Suits, etc), and expect others to train her and basically babysit her like the queen will do on June 14th.
Now would be a good time to drop the bomb I keep hearing about so that we’re not subjected to the queen squiring around Meghan and her pushing herself forward. I don’t know if this engagement is because she won’t be at the Trooping of Colour this weekend or something will stop her like her visa and IRS issues she should be having.
I think when Waity made her joint engagement with the queen and Camilla, Wills was out of the country. Maybe Harry will be out of the country too as an excuse as to why the queen will be alone with Meghan.

Let us not forget-Megs charmed the queen when the Corgis all gathered at her feet during tea. And Megs and her mum became bffs with HM after they had tea with the queen. Megs is going to be HM's new confidant don't you know.  lol lol

Can't wait for Murky to pat Liz on the back as motherly "well done!", cling and clutch to her and seek her hand every 5 seconds, put on her fake humility and act all overwhelmed. Will Liz "calm her nerves"?

I wonder if we'll have a Liz-Cam-Waity-Murky engagement, or any of the possible variation of one such engagement. With K they did Liz-Phil-Waity, Liz-Cam-Waity, any Cam-Waity engagements? There was one Chuck-Waity engagement. They did it all in the 1st year, said "done and dusted" and then scuttled off. lol I expect sth similar with Murky, several such "family engagements" and then they'll all wash their hands off her.

^ lol

^^^just like the public will wash their hands off the royal family. This grifter has made a mockery of what the royal family’s supposed to stand for such as tradition and serving the people (mainly via charitable works), with her Hollywood ways and love of expensive things. Look at how she’s done during the engagements she’s been on with Harry. She looked board and was rude except when she was eating up the adulation from the crowds who she believes were there to see her. Umm, maybe this engagement will be comedy after all since she’ll treat the queen as her co-star and show her how a star goes about doing royal engagements in these modern time.  :
^I hope she shoves the queen out of her way like she did to Harry during one of their engagements.  :cookie:

I smell another appearance in the future by the "fab four" when they officially welcome Megs into the Foundation, she will give a speech. I can't recall if Kate gave one when she was added on, she probably was too scared. But don't doubt Megs an opportunity to do a speech.  :tehe:

This has been one of Harry's sports charities for years. As far as I know KP never announced that Meghan would be joining him for this one. Like the Cambridges  the Wessexes and the rest of the married royals  sometimes the Sussexes have engagements together, sometimes a spouse goes solo. When Meghan's charities and patronages are announced later this year, that's what she will do as well.

Yes, very hard work.  You have to be hand pick what you want to do a lot of the time.  Ahead of the event you have to shower, dress appropriatelythrow any old thing on these days, get the wig or the extensions in and tidy mess it all up. Then you find the trowel to plaster on the foundation and try to look, cough, okay.  You find some frock that looks vile to wear, get out the shoes two sizes too big, leave off the tights, weather too hot.  Then of course you have to make sure the other half has the right shoes, you know, the ones with a big hole int he sole.  Phew, she needs a gold medal for all that, such a lot of work, and that is ahead of arriving in chauffered limo, best seats, fawned on, and within a few hours back indoors laughing their heads off at the plebs they have had to mix with.  Yeah, I can clearly see it really is very hard work indeed.

^The sad part is that Harry talks about getting HIV tested and sage sex, but he’s currently married to a woman who has this type of track record not to mention the DM basically saying she’s a Soho House house girl and other rumours of her being involved with political figures, and of course her acting career mainly consisted of simulating sex for all the world to see. She’s plain out nasty and is only managing to drag the royal family down into the gutter.
All eyes are on this train wreck, but little’s being said about Will and Waity neglecting their ‘work’ as they have patronage’s that haven’t seen them in months. Proves really that their ‘work’ is a joke and that they’re not really committed to the causes, only when they need pr to show that they’re doing something other than going on holiday.
Before, the public seemed indifferent to the royal family, but now with this situation, they’ve become more vocal. I see that and the inroads to social media as part of why she’s there but how long can this situation go on before the public becomes indifferent again because there’s no point to getting worked up if nothing can be done about it. There’s too many people in the U.K. who don’t have any allegiance to the royal family and look at the Meghan/Harry/Markle’s as part of reality tv on par with the gutter shows that populate the tv. They see them as celebrities and not royals.

I think a lot of people in the UK see them more as a burden than as celebrities or royals.
One comment stood out to me most, and I cannot remember where I saw it, but it went something like this:  The Monarchy is the Titanic, Ginger and Nutmeg are the iceberg, and the media is busy rearranging the deck chairs.

I see a lot more indifference to the royals now. ABC is trying to stir up some excitement by airing a two parter about the royals but I doubt it will get good ratings. I saw a lot of issues of People left on the stands when they had that cover story about the royals last week. I think even with the Markles coming forward it's still a big bore.

Title: Re: Sussex's Schedule 2018
Post by: windsor2 on August 22, 2018, 06:07:25 pm
It’s stupid selling of the Disney princess as evident by Meghan being portrayed as an American princess who’s modern, feminist image is good for the stuffy, old fashioned royals. It’s insulting and degrading to the royal family that an outsider with as much baggage as Meghan has will bring anything other than drama and pull down further the bruised image of the royal family. Now look at Harry. He’s now seen as a celebrity and laughed at with his bizarre choice of wife. He can’t continue on his charitable work and expect to be taken seriously when his Hollywood social climber wife’s only interested in merchandising expensive clothes and accessories and jet setting. People are outwardly calling for Harry to step down out of the public eye.
The royals handled Wills and Waity all wrong because they should’ve been the ones that brought in the younger generation to the royal family by connecting with the public. Instead, they used pr to try and sell them as a perfect couple who are now parents instead of just people with a privileged lifestyle that they’re using to help those less fortunate. Up until Meghan, I think Harry was doing a great job at connecting to the people and getting involved with current issues that effected them. He attracted a vast array of people because they see he was genuine and sincere and not only about pr like Wills comes across at times.
This situation with Meghan has done some good in that people are more savy to the false image of a person created by pr. They’re not easy sold on bs anymore, so the ‘kiss up to the royals positive spin, blame others for their woes like the press’ doesn’t work anymore and magazines and tv specials that take that view won’t get large viewership.
I think the best that the organizations that Harry’s a patron of is to hope that Meghan doesn’t attend any events so that they’ll get the proper press/tv coverage. I’m still ticked off at the lack of coverage of the IG in Toronto that turned into the Meghan show.  :bat:

So, Aug 29 is when we have to suffer and see these nitwits "working" by attending Hamilton, who, by the way, had incendiary disdain for the Crown?

I have great doubts that PH or Sparkles will think deeply or have studied enough to catch the irony of their attendance and the true history of the American Revolution.  This is more fluff and red carpet extravagance to show off in the most arrogant and clueless way possible.

The claim is that they already saw it on a private date in Feb and clapped enthusiastically.
HM must be thrilled to read about those two - now effectively sharing one brain cell amongst each other.

:bat:

The only reasons the royals have survived is because of the old fashion rules that have enabled them to be on top for thousands of years. That is the only reason whatsoever that royals have lasted as long as they have. Meg has no business changing anything and the fact that she doesn't understand WHY these rules are there proves that she does not belong. Being a spunky outsider doesn't make someone wiser than HM, or better than a 'stuffy' courtier who actually WANTS to be of help.

People have been saying that the royals are stuffy and old fashioned, so I think that Meg being fasted tracked in with old traditions broken is a project to show ho things would be by modernising the royal family to make it appeal to the social media celebrity loving culture the younger generation's caught up in. I think that Harry deliberately wanted Meg because she's part of that culture as she had social media presence with her IG account and her blog, The Tig, she also has pr companies backing her and possibly paid bots that go on the attack on social media, those who dare to righly criticize her. It would make sense since it was said he wanted an actress and how he and Meg will change the world. Exposing how pr works and the manipulation of pushing a false image like Meg being a feminist and a humanitarian, would definitely do that. The cyber bullying form her fans should be reported in the press because it's out of hand with them threatening to throw acid in royal reporters face and accussing them of being racist. We also see this type of comments in the press like the DM comments.

She had 300K insta followers, mostly not real. After blabbing to the press about the relationship she got up to a mil. That's really nothing much if they are not real. RiRi would have brought serious following and good press for BRF. Meghan just became instafamous because of Harry. She didn't bring anything to the table ... except her chicken legs.

^ I'm not sure Rihanna would have brought good press. She's a known drug-user, and personally I find her trashy, esp for a role like "royal" or "ambassador" etc. I know she has a huge fanbase and is hugely liked, but eh, I'm one of those she leaves cold. I find her to be in the league of other trashy celebs tbh. :dontknow:

My opinion is that I would say they don´t come any trashier than murky and her family, they are bottom of the sewers that lot.  Rhianna might not have brought good press, but could it really be any worse than the press murky and her family are.  The whole family is trailer trash, in fact I think the Kardashians are better trailer trash than the murkles, and that is something.  And at least they earn their own money and know what/who they are.  Murky thumbs her nose at royal protocol, wears the most awful frocks, hair always a mess, shoes far too big, and I don´t buy the bunions bit  -  I have had bunions since a child, and yes, some shoes don´t fit me, but that is because of width, not length, so you buy your shoes according to your foot width and what suits/ disguises the awful bunions.  Showing her boobs, doesn´t wear tight, oh the list is endless. One thing she is consistent with  -  she gets it wrong, every time, never a disappointment about her on that front.  I personally do not think there are people out there trashier than the murkles, all on a par really if you put them together.   Why HM let that kind of trailer trash into the family is a huge mystery.  Look at her face at the nuptials, if looks could kill murkly would have died on the spot, that look was evil and venomous.  Can´t say I blame HM, murky and her family are really such dreadful people, not a decent one among them, and I don´t think the mother is as innocent as they try to make us think.  I can´t see how the rf think that murky would "modernise" the rf, she is the last person to do that, all she is doing is making all the engagements look pathetic and people are fed up with it.  Which royal is attending, dork haza, oh no, and not that awful bint of his with him - yeah, oh well, I wo´t bother going along, don´t want to see that scruffy maniacal looking mess, better off at home with a cuppa.  I dread to think how the Invictus Games will turn out with her there, they really should not allow her to go to that engagement.   I can´t honestly see Rhianna doing any better, but then you can´t do worse than murky is how many see it.

Yeah I don't agree either that Rhianna (or Kardashians etc) would be better than Meghan.  Her family is awful but I do see her as far different and better from them, and certainly moreso than what I would consider Hollywood trash.  But to each her own.

Thing is, that the BRF has always been too picky and I do believe that this has finally caught up to them. Meg was willing since she didn't have much  by way of a career and certainly was not someone with anything to really give up by marrying Harry.

I do believe that the Windsors haven't caught up with the reality that young girls and young women in their twenties are career oriented, the heiresses have better options in regards to a spouse, and at this point, with Harry's bad choices, no one wants to marry in and put up with being required to get Harry to pull himself together.

Diana I believe was the last teen bride of a Western royal family and I do believe that after what happened with her, aristocrats slammed the doors in the faces of reigning royal families. It's clear that the princes are a lackluster lot who clearly do not want to grow up and at least TRY to be happy with all they have.

Harry clearly indulges in so much self pity and instead of being willing to make his life more fulfilling, he prefers to go out and get drunk and no sane woman should want to put up with that kind of hassle and be forced to assume the role of caregiver and mommy figure to a self destructive adult male.

The best solution would be to not have any of the royal family as patrons of any charity because the longer this joke of a woman’s attached to them, the less useful they look. Having a royal as patron used to bring awareness and funds to the charaties but we’ve seen with Meghan that all it brings is disgust and negative press and comments; remember the Toronto IG and every engagement she’s attended since. It’s counterintuitive to have her around and act like she’s making an impact on anything like Harry seemed to have done prior to this mess. Time for charaties to look elsewhere for attracting good press and donations as right now, the royals are tainted.

Title: Re: Sussex's Schedule 2018
Post by: Kuei Fei on September 06, 2018, 06:26:34 pm
At the risk of being off topic, maybe they just aren't in demand; these engagements are spaced big time and it could well be that no one really wants them around. The UN isn't asking Meg to make a speech and it is clear that her quitting her UN position was in fact her choice. So instead of being in demand, she foolishly cut herself off from a lot of potential engagements on behalf of the UN and that would have been enough to send the press into throes of ecstasy.

So now their schedule is empty and it is obvious that neither are much in demand.

And I think the following can hardly be classed as work:

Garden party
Ascot
Awards ceremony
Holiday in Dublin

I do believe that no one takes this seriously as 'work' anymore and I am certain that Invictus will boost the numbers, but it's not like Duchess Dolt is going to be able to claim that she helped make any of it happen and I am certain that she will end up basically a complete and utter laughingstock if she tries in any way to preside over the games in a grande dame style.

These 'engagements' are really sparse considering that they are in fact very undemanding.

Looking back, it flooks like those engagements were biding time and gave an opportunity to have her wear ultra expensive clothing that made her an out of touch celebrity and not a member of the royal family who are economizing on their clothing allowance. She's, thankfully, not been aded to any patronages and the foundation that she was added to will most likely shut down since Charles was propping it up with money from his finances.
Harry has a solo event next week in Devon with the military.

Meghan needs to get involve with patronages. Realistically she can't if Charles really wants the scaled down monarchy. he does not want the Yorks doing anything. So it's up to his sons and daughters in law.

If there are two daughters in law rarely seen it would look very bad. The two can't sail on excuses and maybe unlike the other one Meghan wants to be out more. Definitely she needs patronages and charities and be seen working.

There were also several days of playing in charity polo matches (together with William) in aid of Sentebale and Ghurka Trust and other charities within the Royal Foundation in June, July.

Exactly; we all chase what we lack in life and I daresay that William and Harry are chasing the polo ball around since they are subconsciously lacking balls in the area of their psyche. If they had half the stamina of most men, they would have wiped the floor with Kate and Meg (brooming them out) and would have been established in the charity circuit many years ago. It is a pity that neither William or Harry ever wanted to take control of their lives.

I would say that the Royal Foundation that the two Princes began years ago (and now has many charities under its umbrella)  would be considered a pretty big part of any charity circuit.

^ lol agreed
^^ I personally respect where my money are spent and do not give to 'charities' whose only public appearance is balls and graden parties and such because I am not certain of my money went for helping people or for the champagne or, in Ms case, for the dress, the shoes, the first class of the flown in stylists, etc. In my book big charities do not impress. Big impact does. So far I haven't seen any of those princes show up results or impact. Just photo opps.

Charities don't usually hold garden parties to raise cash. However, charities do hold balls and dinners to do so. I think the Turnip Toffs of Norfolk held one a couple of years ago that Kate attended that raised hundred of thousands of pounds for charity in one night. So do polo matches for charity, in the millions often, and Sentebale and other organisations under the umbrella of the Royal Foundation have benefited enormously.
